Incredible Value but Course Seen better Fall Seasons
I play here often, have seen it immaculate and seen it embarrassing. This trip was in the middle. Greens were very inconsistent, appeared several were dormant or dead and painted, and others had wooly patches. Made it difficult to determine approach and putting was as much luck as skill. The bunkers were in great shape compared to previous visits, but awfully shallow the two sand shots I had my club got into the liner under the sand. Pace of play was great, 3 of us played 18 holes in 2 hours 10 minutes thanks to courteous groups letting us through.
Nice course for the price
Overall the course is worth the price but the greens are quick and need some work
Bang for you $$
I have played this Course several times. I have also played other Courses in the area, and for the money you pay, no Course comes close for what you pay to play. Some of the Greens need some work, but not to the point where it will affect your game. Trust me when I tell you alot of Courses in the area need to be ashamed that they call their Courses Country Clubs, because I feel sorry for anyone that has to pay Monthly dues to be a member. I really enjoy playing here.
HIDDEN GEM
Worth the drive from jville. My friends and took a chance and it has a lot of courses in jville beat the staff, layout and better yet veterans play for free on veterans day!!
No courses in jville offer that to my knowledge...
We will definitely go back any play for sure what a nice time we had playing.
Staff (Mike) and everyone were very nice and invited us back.
WORTH THE DRIVE
I have eagerly waiting for the right time to play this course and after a two hour drive it was worth it.. The staff was awesome. We are thinking about making this an annual trip on Veteran Day.
Passing through.
Played this course while passing through the area. Very nice, carved out of the forest in a state park. Fun layout and in good shape.
I like the course
I like the course, I play here around once every 2 months. The greens are very patchy, bumpy & look like they are dying. We ran out of sand in our 2 bottles after 3 holes & there was nowhere on the course to refill the bottles with sand. I’m wondering if the greens are going to improve over winter months
Great Public Facility
The course is in really good shape, the greens are a bit spotty and can be fast from certain sides. Really nice golf course.
No Marshall
The course is in great shape but there needs to be a Marshall there even when not busy. I was a single player and the 4-some in front of me would not let me play thru the entire front side. This lack of etiquette caused a backup starting with me and 3 other groups. There weren't but 10 groups on the entire golf course there. Club house employee needs to tell these 4-somes to let faster groups thru. The 10:20 group was the problem. If i play there again i will go to the backside. BTW clubhouse employee doesn't like golfnow rates.
Top dresses
The course is in excellent condition. They just top dresses the greens, still running good.
Came to the course from Jacksonville, FL had family come down from other states for our annual Golf week We kicked it off with a wonderful round at the Lakes.
I dont know what course you played but it could not be this one. There is no way in three days the course could be in great shape. I played this course 8/11/2020, even after all the rain only one CPO and that was hole 8. All greens were running smooth.
