Good time at Osprey
Had a great time playing. Pace of play was great. Course was in really good condition. Some of the tees weren't the greatest, but whatever. They were slit seeding the fairways which didn't bother anything. Greens were smooth and hard, not overly fast or slow. Will definitely play again. Range balls included with fees was a bonus. Friendly staff.
Excellent course
One of the finest courses to play in Georgia. Greens are quick but playable. I will definitely play again.
Nice course
Very nice course at a very good price. New greeens are firm and in great shape. I you like to practice, free range balls and short game practice area. Nice clubhouse where you can sit outside and enjoy views of 9 and 18 green. Variety of tees make it playable for everyone. Wide fairways but well protected greens. Can’t wait to play again
beautiful course
Overall a very nice course, only negative was the greens where very hard. shoots on the green would often bounce off.
Outstanding, but hard to buy a Beer
Outstanding course, pace of play could’ve been better. Easier access to beverages at the turn would be helpful. Too much distance between #9 and the bar
That view though!
The course brought back memories of my low country home with all of the amazing marsh views. Also one of the best if not the best laid out courses for my eye that I have ever played. And range balls were free. Staff was very friendly.
Unfortunately the condition was average at best. Greens were Hard, inconsistent and unresponsive. Putts were impossible to read and a well stuck wedge would roll for days.
If it hadn’t been for the condition of the greens and some of the tee boxes I would have given this course 5 stars. Told my wife I thought this course could be special if it had just an average superintendent taking care of it.
No cart girl!!!
nice day of golf
The round was excellent until we caught up with a slow moving 3 some. The course got backed up by the time we hit the 4th hole and there was no staff to keep the pace moving forward. Additionally there was no cart service the entire day we were there. We were offered the chance to replay the front 9 again to avoid having to wait on the slower group ahead of us. We chose to stop for a 9-10 hole break at the turn and some of the others choose to go back to the first tee and finish their round. We came to play the entire course so we continued to play the back 9. Because the others made a different choice it actually made the speed of play normal for us completing the round. The fairways were in excellent shape, but greens looked great but were extremely fast. I usually love to play fast greens but these were like rocket fast. To put in prospective on how firm they were you could hit a 56 degree wedge shot straight in the air toward the green and leave no depression so you better play the ball to roll an additional amount depending on shot and club selection. The wonderful staff did inform us that the greens had been replaced and were very fast prior to the round but I didn't expect this kind of speed. I wish I had internet connection that was that fast. Otherwise I loved this course and I will most certainly play again. This place has some wide fairways and is very inviting to play. Scenery is nice but the no see um's that the driving range are not so nice. I hope my review does not sound negative because had it not been for the slow group ahead of us, the day would have been as close to perfect as I could ask for at 70-74 degrees sunny and slight wind.
Wide open challenge
No tree trouble to be found here, but there's plenty of length to make for a nice challenge. Staff cautioned that new greens are still very hard, and they're right, they won't really hold a pitch.but they putt beautifully! Also enjoyed watch ospreys land in their nest.
St. Mary’s Best kept secret
Awesome staff. Carts were clean and ready to go. If drinks at the turn were easily available it would have been perfect
The Club at Osprey Cove
Pace of play was good. The course was in great shape. Very challenging holes with a great layout! Staff were very helpful & extremely friendly. We really like this course, we have played it 3 times in two weeks! Thanks
Great Course with Outstanding Staff
Great course conditions with outstanding staff. This facility, and staff level of customer service, should be what other golf course should meet.
No see ums
Nice course, very nice facility, range balls included in your green fee and the staff was extremely nice.
Only issue was it would have been nice if they had warned about No see ums, for people not from this area
we had no idea they would be bad this time of year or ever for that matter, got bitten up pretty bad and no see um
bits are a real pain to deal with and can last up to 2 weeks.
Beautiful course
Had a wonderful day. Course was very nice and pace was great.
Great course
Very nice course but a lot of seniors in the play is very slow
Course in good shape for early February
Second time I've played the course. Greens are a bit of a challenge. They all have undulations. I like the combo options on the scorecard. My 73 yr old body played the Gray/Green combo at 5583+ yards. There are 6 options ranging from 5386 to the tips at 6778.
I'd recommend this course.
Good layout
The course is in very good condition for the winter
