St. Mary’s Best kept secret
Awesome staff. Carts were clean and ready to go. If drinks at the turn were easily available it would have been perfect
The Club at Osprey Cove
Pace of play was good. The course was in great shape. Very challenging holes with a great layout! Staff were very helpful & extremely friendly. We really like this course, we have played it 3 times in two weeks! Thanks
Great Course with Outstanding Staff
Great course conditions with outstanding staff. This facility, and staff level of customer service, should be what other golf course should meet.
No see ums
Nice course, very nice facility, range balls included in your green fee and the staff was extremely nice.
Only issue was it would have been nice if they had warned about No see ums, for people not from this area
we had no idea they would be bad this time of year or ever for that matter, got bitten up pretty bad and no see um
bits are a real pain to deal with and can last up to 2 weeks.
Beautiful course
Had a wonderful day. Course was very nice and pace was great.
Great course
Very nice course but a lot of seniors in the play is very slow
Course in good shape for early February
Second time I've played the course. Greens are a bit of a challenge. They all have undulations. I like the combo options on the scorecard. My 73 yr old body played the Gray/Green combo at 5583+ yards. There are 6 options ranging from 5386 to the tips at 6778.
I'd recommend this course.
Good layout
The course is in very good condition for the winter
The Walrus
They have new greens which roll true but they are hard(not firm). Could not get ball to stick to Green. Cost paid to play this course was really good.
For winter conditions it's well maintained
I love playing this course and conditions were quite good for winter conditions. The 18th hole has been a bugger for me. It is long over the marsh and I can't quite make it over in three tries. Maybe it' because I'm 77 years old and starting to lose a little now.
I live in Jacksonville, Florida and it makes for a nice day trip. Play this course and have a good.
BEAUTIFUL GOLF COURSE WITH MANY VIEWS OF SALT MARSHES
Osprey Cove golf course is semi private located within a gated development. The development, the course itself and the club house are very well maintained. All staff we met very very friendly, with the bar which we used after a very enjoyable round was very sociable.
The main attraction of the course was its layout with many of the holes being very scenic having views over marshland to the St Marys river. The houses in the development did NOT detract from the 'rural' nature of the course
New Favorite
I was told about this golf course by a friend of mine. When it was available on GolfNow I jumped at the opportunity to play. The course did not disappoint! The layout is challenging, the conditions terrific, and the amenities around the corners are wonderful. From start to finish this is a great golfing experience and I cannot wait to get back there and play again. Osprey Cove is one of my new favorite golf courses!
Don't Play Here When it's a Windy Day
Even though the temps reached 50+ degrees, it felt much colder due to the extreme winds off the marshes. Also, I believe because they intended this course for homeowners, there are few signs to the next tee and no map of the hole/hazards on the card or on the tee box signs. I guess they just expect you to know. Makes for a tough course for a some time guest. Finally, don't play on Ladies' Day Tuesday unless you have PLENTY of time!
Greens hard as a rock
Poor design. Most of the greens have a bunker right front. With the hardness of the greens it is about impossible to hold the greens as every shot is into a green that runs away from you.
Great Golf on a great course
I have wanted to play Osprey Cove for several years and this was my first chance to do so. My regular foursome met together to play and we had a wonderful time. The course was challenging but not punishingly so. Even though I played worse than usual, I enjoyed the round thoroughly knowing that any trouble I got into was my own fault. My group enjoyed the design of the course immensely. The views across the marsh on 8, 9, and 18 are fantastic and the course seems set amid the natural beauty without diminishing it. Pace of play was smooth and the staff was friendly. The only down side of the day was that the greens were very firm and approach shots tended to skip off of them, but the staff warned us about this before our round. I would expect the greens to soften back up in the Spring. I would recommend Osprey Cove highly to anyone in the area.
Great course
Great course at GolfNow price. Greens are very firm from replacement earlier this year but roll well.
Great Deal
Greens were in fantastic shape. Hard and Fast. Tee boxes were a little furry, but a great deal
