Great Golf
The course is beautiful . Well layed out with lots of scenic views and rolling hills. The course has it's challenges that include elevation changes and twice teeing off over ravines and once over water. The pace of play is great. No one coming along to hurry you up. So go and play and enjoy a great day on the course. Excellent value. I will definitely play here again
NICE COURSE, NICE PEOPLE
I will play here again. The price is really good. Course is in good condition. It was difficult to find level ground on some of the tee boxes. If you like slow greens, this is your place. Greens were about a 1 on the stemp meter. There were some holes where I putted several balls across the green and never did get the ball to the hole. They are a little slower than Torrey Pines. Fun course to play though. Definitely play from the Blue tees.
Worth every minute
Great staff, great cojrse, definitely challenging but fun. Definitely worth it. Will be visiting again.
Love the state courses
Another great lay out and round for the price. I can't get over the great state courses in ga. Not as good as Hard Labor Creek but it's a good hilly course.
Challenging
The course was in really good condition. The greens were as good as any around Metro Atlanta. Short course as the yardage goes. But the challenges were ups and downs in some narrow fairways. If you're ever headed up I-85, exit 160 in Georgia take some time to go by and visit. Really good course.
Love the layout & the chalange. Will play again! Soon!!!
This was the first time playing this course, so it was challenging to say the least. Some blind shots & slanted fairways. Greens are very challenging as putts do not always follow the slope of the green, but more the grain of the green.
I, however love courses like this, as I find it tends to make me a better golfer.
I will absolutely be playing be playing this course again.
Are these the Best Greens in Georgia?
Awesome, full, smooth, carpet fairways. I play Ga/Fla courses ~20 times a yr, and I play this course ~3 times a year just to have a great benchmark for everywhere else.
Really Nice
Greens were in awesome shape. Really pretty golf course. Not overly challenging but a good test! Will definately go back!
Great course for the money
Great course. Love the layout. Challenging but rewarding. Another great state park course in Georgia.
great golf outing
I play this course a few times a month. its always exciting definitely a great course for the price.
Put on your climbing shoes
Highland Walk is not a walk at all, it's a climb. In fact, I can't imagine anyone walking this course. You are either hitting uphill or downhill on every shot, usually to a blind location. The par 5,18th is an extreme uphill hole, that would make a great ski slope. It requires three very good shots too get to the green.
Overall the course is in good shape and the greens were very good. They are the older, grainy Bermuda grass, so your putts must be accurate.
I've played three of the GA State Park courses now, and this one comes in second behind Arowhead Point at Richard B. Russell.
Good value
Quick check-in. Good value. Friendly. Sneaky long. Good, thick rough. Would like more info on holes. Really hot day--need more water.
My home course
I enjoy every time i get to play here. It is challenging but very fun to play. I would recommend it to everyone.
Long and Physical
This is a public owned golf course, in rural Georgia, with plenty of room. Long rolling hills, fairly open fairways, a fun drivers course. It is challenging on level ground, greens are in excellent shape. There are new carts, friendly & helpful staff. Be prepared to get your exercise and it was hot and humid.
worth the trip
Course is about one and half hours from Atlanta, but is worth the trip. Course is in great condition and during week day pace of play is fantastic for course with so many hills and vallys. Driving range snd practice greens are also in good condition. Great round of golf in a quiet mountain setting at a very reasonable price.
Good corse
Great course for the value, challenging, good scenery and has a great State Park to accompany it, get out there if you get a Great course for the value, challenging, good scenery and has a great State Park to accompany it, get out to try it and good luck
Great secret in NE GA
Played a lot of different course in Georgia but none compare to the challenge or the excellent conditions the course has.
Mountain golf
Course is very challenging with up, down and sidehill lies on almost every fairway shot. Conditions were wonderful. Greens were smooth and medium, speed, just right for the type of conditions. Only criticism is that for a first timer the course could use some direction flags/markers on half a dozen holes which have blind shots to the green. Lots of fun!
Great Value
This is a great place to play for the money, but just be aware that it is a fairly difficult course. It is very hilly and errant balls that land near the edge of the boundary to the woods are pretty much a lost cause. Also, the grass on the greens isn't the type you would normally expect––it's a little longer and more coarse, and will bend one way or another depending on the time of day and the sun. Those complaints aside, this course is a great value for the money. Hit 'em straight and close to the pin, and you'll be sure to have a great round!
Highland ride not walkable
fairways and green in great shape
Green slower than most
Pretty course
