Side Hill....Down Hill...
Good track located in a Georgia State Park about 25 minutes off of I-85. Lots of up and down lies as well as some holes that provide scoring ability. Bermuda greens were thick and putting was difficult because of that. (Felt like needing to really "slug" the ball rather than putt it!)
Plays longer than the yardage because of all the ups and downs....
Beautiful course and well maintained greens!!
For a state park, it is well maintained and challenging course with a lot of nature around!!
Great value course
This course is really fun to play. Greens are in great shape and consistent throughout. Grainy, but that's Bermuda for you. Course was not crowded, even on a Saturday.
Great course
Played through 7 groups which was a continuous rush to get out of the way and was not enjoyable. As far as the course it's self was great. Fairways were in great condition greens were very nice as well. But again I play for the enjoyment to relax and this trip was far from it.
my favorite course
Awesome course very challenging and always in outstanding condition
A must play course for northeast Georgia
The course was a lot harder than I had pictured. It was in really great shape. greens were really fast and hard to read. It is a must play course in northeast Georgia.
a hidden gem!
Great time playing. this hidden gem in royston, ga. Looking forward to playing many times this year!
Great Value!
I was able to get this round as a "Hot Click" and it certainly was incredible price for a Saturday afternoon. I've always enjoyed this course despite its challenging nature. Whether this is due to the undulating fairways and varying elevations or the not necessarily country club manicuring of the greens this course always plays tougher than it's price. While there were quite a few people out on the course our two-some was able to play through a couple groups and didn't run into a foursome until about the 14th hole. Given the fact that it is on a state park is is beautiful, quiet and a great place to spend an afternoon.
no for flat lander`s !
If you have any golfing buddies coming up from the south, you have to invite to play here. After paring the first two holes, they may say this course isn`t so hilly , but wait to see what they say standing on #3 tee box ! At the end of the round everyone will hate you !

Good course last layout. Greens our firm with good speed. Lots of undulating greens and fairways.very challenging course. Hit them long and have fun.
Beautiful Course
Fun course in really nice condition. only problem was that the greens had some problems with some dry patches. A lot of really fun holes as well as a 600 yard monster par 5. Definitely will try to play this again.
great value for a state golf course
This course is as good as the high price clubs in the area.
Great course
Beautiful course with lots of twists and turns. Smooth greens and a great place to play. Nice and quiet location.
Cheap but challenging course
Course was in very good shape. Accurate tee shot a must, fairways slope a lot. Fun but challenging. Can't beat a $14 tee time on a Sunday!!!
Great course
Second time playing Highland Walk and I enjoyed it again. Great place nice design and in great shape.
Awesome
Love the course. Could use a little more option for food, but I didn't go there to eat. Awesome day.
Control it off the tee
Course was in great shape. Greens were real tough, grain makes a huge impact on speed and break. Hit it straight off the tee and the course is a lot of fun to play!
Fun, Challenging Course, Great Price ($16 Hot Deal)
Had just rained, so Cart-Path Only was not much fun on this hilly course. Due to the 2 days of rain before my round, the greens were not cut and very slow. Course was in good shape and provided a challenge with dog-legs, elevation changes, and tight fairways. Will definitely go back to Highland Walk, when the weather is better.
High Life @ Highland Walk!
The course was in very good shape today with fairways looking excellent, and tee boxes and greens in good condition. Some holes look "wide open" from the tee box, but play to the topography or you'll roll a handful of balls into the woods by virtue of ignoring the slopes. The front nine is a little more challenging than the back, with two par-5 holes and only one par-3. With one par-5 and three par-3s, I scored better on the back nine.
For the money, I haven't played a better course, and on a Tuesday afternoon it was deserted. Plan on a drive to get there, but you'll not be disappointed. Beautiful vistas, and a really nice course!
Need to rethink carts
Difficult course, but very pretty. Only problem I see that needs improvement is for the management to change the electric carts to fuel-powered. Carts do not have enough power for the last few holes since there are so many hills to climb. We weren't sure if our cart would actually make it past hole 17, even with one of us walking. It was really ridiculous.
