Fast Greens
Since we had a few rainy days the fairways were soggy in places making the striking of the golf ball challenging for a recreational golfer. The course has a variety of looks making a player know the distance of their striking distances for a successful par. For an average woman golfer, the tee to hole distance seems longer than other courses in the area which becomes another challenge to get a decent score. Love the big screen telling distances, digital score card and the ability to send your score to your email. The greens are well maintained and rock hard. Your ball will sail far beyond the hole if you do not sink your putt. A great course to enjoy and grow your game
Book it Dano
Some of the most pure greens I have played in while. Great views of downtown from the course. Best Bloody Mary's ever!
Savannah Harbor So Sweet!
I love to play golf, occasionally I even play good. So most of the time I play local and public courses that are affordable. But every once in awhile you get the chance to play a really nice course and it is epic. This was that day. The grass was awesome, not like the brown hibernating stuff every where else. The trees were brilliant fall colors. The view of Talmadge bridge, the Westin, multi story freighters on the river, even the alligator sunning himself in the record 80 degree weather all combined to make it an awesome day. I played solid bogey golf, which is great for me. There were a couple of fiendish holes and the greens were incredibly subtle. But the golf was straight forward and immensely enjoyable.
Great course, beautiful, nice greens, driving range included!
What a terrifc course! The only thing that could have been better was if they weren't overseeding...the course was a bit wet, and cart-path only. It was a steal for $44 per round. As good as the $95 courses we've played.
Excellent coastal golf venue
This is a wonderful example of coastal golf. The relatively wide fairways often hide the challenges on and around the greens, some of which are very large. I had a couple of eighty foot putts which were very challenging. The bunkers and greens were well maintained and the speed of the greens was perfect.
Great course
Very well maintained and challenging. .................
Beautiful Course. In Great Shape
This is our second time playing here. Last time was great and this was even better. Will be back next time GolfNow has a deal.
A must if you really enjoy great conditions and challenging greens
From the time you arrive to your departure; a great experience. Excellent practice facilities that makes you feel like a pro. Fairways are in excellent condition despite fall conditions, with lightning fast greens that will leave you scratching your head. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PLAYING THIS COURSE!
Would definately recommend.
Playing this course was a delight. The course is placed on an island and the holes are peaceful and quite.
Super slow
The course was in great shape but the pace of play was a death march. This course needs to have rangers on the course moving players along. Many times when my group got to the next tee the group in front of us was just teeing off with the group in front of them just moving out of range.
great course
always a great course to play. Staff super friendly play was great greens soft and sometimes challenging to read.
Nice course
Very nice flavor course with a country club. Fairways ands greens were in great condition. Fairly placed tee boxes for all skill levels. Only saw one gator.
Fun, challenging, and interesting course to play
Great challenge and a way to experience low-country golf at its finest. Staff couldn't have been more accomodating and super friendly. Recommend to anyone staying in the area.
Blood Bank
Do not forget your bug spray. Mosquito's the size of F16 jets await. Other than the loss of blood, the course was extremely enjoyable. Staff was more than accommodating. The pristine conditions and scenic holes make it a must play in the Savannah area.
Beautiful course
The Savannah Harbor course is a well maintained, beautiful course located on an island across from downtown Savannah. The fairways had plenty of bunkers and swampy obstacles to keep them interesting. Being on an island, there wasn't much elevation change but the fairways were softly undulating. The greens were in great condition. Again, they weren't a tricky as other courses but they were fast.
The course was in excellent shape. The starter was helpful and informative since this was our first time on the course. Will return!
The course was in excellent shape.
The starter was helpful and informative as this was our first time on the course. We would recommend as well as play the course again when in this area.
A beautiful golf course with great features and real alligators in the alley
The service is outstanding, the golf course is set up like a tour venue. The fairways are cut somewhat narrow that brings the rough into play, which is thick. The greens are fast. But overall a great golf course and great experience.
The pace of play is listed as 4hrs. The thick rough makes that almost impossible because you have to spend sometime searching for your ball in the rough. The starter does explain you need to keep your eye on your ball because of this rough.
Great course, bring bug spray
Course was in great shape. Fairways great, rough great, greens great. Really nice practice range as well. Staff was very friendly.
Misquotes are INSANE. They are like flying buzzards ripping at your flesh. Bring OFF, you will need it.
Great course across from River St Savannah.
Several of the holes you can grip it and rip it, with room to miss a little, but then if you miss too much, you will find trouble. Lots of strategically placed bunkers, with sand of varying quality, and other assorted hazards, like water, marsh, and trees. Several narrow holes which required well placed tee shots, and some greens needed very precise shot making. Greens where good, speed was a bit quick, grass fair, roll was true. Very attractive layout across the river from downtown Savannah. A short water taxi ride to the bars on River Street. Bring your bug repellent.
Great course, friendly staff, great facilities
Very challenging Champions Tour Course with outstanding facilities and friendly staff. Excellent experience all around and reasonable green fees.
