The Club at Savannah Harbor

I genuinely cannot understand how this golf course continues to operate with such an embarrassing lack of standards. There are bad golf courses, there are disappointing golf courses, and then there is this place. Calling this an enjoyable golfing experience would be an insult to every decent course out there.

For what this club charges, you would expect an experience that is at least worth getting out of bed for. Instead, you are left wondering why you wasted your time, money, and an otherwise perfectly good day on a course that has absolutely no business charging the prices it does.

The entire experience feels like a complete rip-off. This club seems far more interested in collecting your money than providing golfers with a quality experience. The fact that anyone could walk away from this place feeling satisfied is beyond me.

Golf is supposed to be relaxing, enjoyable, and something you look forward to. This course manages to suck every bit of enjoyment out of the game. I have had better experiences hitting golf balls into an open field.

My advice? Avoid this place like the plague. There are far too many beautiful, well-run golf courses out there to waste another dollar on this absolute disappointment of an establishment.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. One star is already being far too generous.

Save your money, save your patience, and go play literally anywhere else.

The customer service at this golf club is an absolute embarrassment. You would think a place that charges people good money to play golf would have at least a basic understanding of hospitality, professionalism, and how to treat paying customers. Apparently, that is asking far too much from this establishment.

The level of customer service here is nothing short of a joke. It takes a special kind of incompetence to make paying customers feel like they are an inconvenience simply for expecting to be treated with a little respect. The complete lack of professionalism and customer appreciation is astonishing.

What makes it even worse is the attitude that comes with it. This club seems to have forgotten that golfers have plenty of other options and that customers are the reason businesses like this stay open in the first place. Acting like you are doing people a favor by allowing them to spend their money at your establishment is a terrible way to run a business.

If this is what this club considers hospitality, they seriously need to reevaluate their standards. A golf club can have the most beautiful course in the world, but when the customer service is this awful, none of that matters.

I would rather spend my money at a mediocre golf course that treats its customers with respect than ever give this establishment another dollar.

Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Save yourself the frustration and take your business somewhere that actually appreciates it.

Fairways were plush but got no roll. I am a Super Senior, i usually hit around 200 yard drives. Here with the deep rough and thick fairways all my shots with long irons and driver were coming up really short.

Greens were rolling slow as well. About 7 to 7 1/2 on stemp meter. Disappointing.

Course was wet, but very playable after an overnight thunderstorms. Website not open. Call to make sure range is open. Pace of play was 4 hours

I am average golfer, and shoot normally high 80’s. This golf course is a game of hide and seek with your balls. You better land in the fairway every time or kiss goodbye to your ball before hitting. The grass is so high it gets burried immediately wherever it lands(except fairway). Nothing to see in the horizon so you need someone to keep an eye on your ball where it lands exactly, If you are lucky to find your ball, it may be all thee way at the bottom and rescue it, or it may be floating on top 1-1.5 inch from the ground as if you were teeing up for a driver…

Nonetheless it is playable but beware that these are the conditions. Also Mosquitoes!! Mosquitoes!! Mosquitoes!!! So aggressive even playing with long sleeves and bug spray won’t top them! Today I’m covered with at least 30-40 mosquitoes

Also we were backed up on hole 5, with 3 foursomes and the cart keep yelling at you to pick up the pace putting pressure on all your shots

I would like to play this course when the dry conditions arrive. Course was flooded & oversaturated due to recent rains. Our feet were soaked because it was so wet, cart path only wurh feet sinking down at least 1-2 inches, muddy

My husband got bit up bu mosquitoes & West Nile virud is on the rise10 or 15 bites despite our bug spray OFF. Thay should have paid us to play there!

Layout of course beautiful, but horrible confitions.

The entire staff was welcoming. Tee time was set for 8am team got us out at 730am due to some cancelled spots. The weather turned on us while playing but was able to keep playing. Around 9th whole needed to buy new shirts due to being rained on and staffed discounted items which was awesome. Went back out about 30 minutes after rain slowed down and played another 5 holes before we decided to stop playing due to weather . Clubs were cleaned up for us and again we thank staff for their hospitality and professionalism. I woukd 100% holes back and play it was a beautiful course . I can only imagine if it was nice out how it would be .

First 12 holes were absolutely incredible I had a great time. Once you get to 13 you get on the marshy side of the course. The mosquitos make the last 6 holes virtually unplayable. Not only did my score tank because you literally can’t take a normal swing but after the round I am covered in bites it’s not even worth it. I’ve played all over Florida and Georgia and have never run into an issue this blatant. Guy when I got back told me when it rains the mosquito repellent isn’t effective. For this price, this course should have this figured out. Would’ve made it 4 stars if this issue wasn’t so glaring.

The fairways are wide and forgiving but the course is still difficult. Plan your next shot. The greens were in great shape and rolled true, but they can have very difficult pin placements.

The clubhouse and grill room staff were courteous and professional. The starter was humorous, and had a positive attitude making him perfect for the role. Greens weren’t the fastest but they were in excellent condition and they were consistent. The fairways were great. The rough was very tough and cost me more than a few shots. The mosquitoes were relentless on a couple of holes and that’s the only negative thing I’d say about the place.

Course had become a little worn. Great commitment over past year or so to create a legitimate resort course.

I'd driven by Savannah Harbor enough times on trips between Florida and South Carolina that I finally had to stop by to see what the course was like. I'm glad I did.

The Bob Cupp design, touched up a few years ago, may not be a world-beater, but there are plenty of fun holes and nice vistas that give it a unique sense of place. This isn't some isolated spot where golfers feel like they're alone out there. Rather, there are reminders that you're in a semi-oasis a stone's throw from one of the South's most charming cities, warts and all. You'll see bridges and buildings, but also long stretches of marsh. The course was in very good shape when I played it this spring and I particularly enjoyed the large, rambunctious 12th and 18th greens. It's well worth a stop as part of a Savannah long weekend with the family or to break up a lengthy north-south road trip.

This was a favorite of Savannah Ga. It even once host senior golf tournaments. It’s has lost much of its charm. Many better options available. Need a lot of love and attention.

Greens still healing from early June punch but very playable; otherwise, course was in excellent shape. We will most definitely be back soon.
