About Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa
The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort, part of the Marriott Bonvoy brand of hotels, is a golf resort located on Hutchinson Island in the Savannah River on the Georgia-South Carolina border. There is a marina that allows boaters to stop off at the resort for dinner or golf. The resort is home to the 18-hole Club at Savannah Harbor, which features a championship course designed by Bob Cupp and a golf academy. The hotel has 390 guest rooms, plus extensive meeting space, multiple dining concepts and an outdoor pool. Guests can take complimentary water taxis across the river into historic Savannah, Georgia's oldest city.Facts

Greens need time
Course was in great condition except the greens. They are having to re-sod a few of them so they need some time to come back to their previous glory. Only other issue was we had a 4some ahead of us that was very slow and held us up every hole starting on #3. Marshall never said anything to them about pace of play. Finally passed them on #13.
Nice layout and for $60 it was worth it.

better than before
played two weeks ago and the greens were atrocious. They have come around some, thank god, but still not good. bumpy, lumpy but tracked pretty straight. rest of course is pretty nice and it's always been a great tract.

Caddy Mosquitoes
Prepare for the mutant mosquitoes that defy all insect repellents!!! Tee time was at 7am and we were greeted by them at the cart pickup! If you can get past that, they are doing major construction where numerous holes had make shift greens. They did discount the price down to $75 per player at check in due to the construction.
If your staying at the Westin, it’s within walking distance. So the convenience is a plus. However, there is nothing special about this course. Even after reconstruction, this course is average and not worth the $104 that they initially charged.
The staff, however, was extremely courteous and professional.

Long Challenging
Course played long especially since the wind was blowing from the east and most of the longest hole head east. Liked the layout no problem hitting driver on all 4s and 5s. Greens had just been punched took totally took putting out of the game. Slow and very bumpy. Stay away for the next couple of weeks. Should have at least rolled the greens like putting on a waffle.

mostly good golf course, some really bad greens
we usually love this course been playing it for many, many years. unfortunately the greens have been digressing for the last few years. this tract had the best conditions anywhere within 200 miles of savannah when it first opened. it was well maintained for many years, especially when the seniors tour was coming here, but that was probably the height of its glory and has devolved since. and it's mostly the greens to blame, from the best to now some of the worst. hopefully they can find a groups keeper and greens keeper that know how to bring them back. i don't really want to play there anymore until they are fixed, but that'll take many months or years to happen.

Mosquitoes ate us alive….hate holes for no obvious reason to be path only, especially when path is outside row of trees… can’t see drive……also if you just spiked the greens , that should be revealed before you show up

Greens need serious TLC
Very good layout where the winds affect how many holes play. Two long holes on the front -- the first par 3 and the last par 5 -- are monsters in terms of length. Course play s very fair if you can keep the ball in the usually generous fairways. The big problem with the course is the greens which are uniformly terrible. Tough winter conditions, perhaps some fungus, and likely less than optimal maintenance have left them spotty and bumpy and really takes the fun out of getting the ball on the green. They likely need aeration and time to grow as they are not in shape for the $ which are charged. Would play it again when the greens are back to normal

Great layout, poor greens.
Really enjoyed playing here. It has a great layout with challenging, protected greens. However, almost every green had spots that should have been marked as ground under repair. The greens were certainly not $100 a round greens. Most frustrating part of the day was when the poor maintenance of the greens (dirt patches! for almost $200/round) clearly redirected my ball on a putt.
