Pace is terrible
Great place to play. If you can catch a deal on golf now, it's a must play course. The establishment is nice with friendly employees. The course is in great shape but has gone down hill a little in the past 4 years. My only complaint about the course is the Marshall not doing much. At one point during our round at the ninth hole. (which is right next to the club house) we had a terrible congestion. Group on the green slowing pace had a group waiting for them in the fairway, us standing on the tee box, the group behind us waiting in the shade, and the group behind them leaving the green of the previous hole. The club house being there gave us time so separate us from the groups in front of us, but was short lived. Enforcing the pace of play could definitely be improved.
I would definitely come back
This is a very well maintained course situated right outside downtown Savannah. Compared to other courses in the immediate area, this one has the most knowledgeable and courteous staff; it's what you would expect from a course of this caliber.
The course itself is not very challenging but I would come back based on the quality of the course and its services.
Nice day of couples golf.
Very windy day and a twosome (father and son) jumping around from hole to hole slowing things up. called for a players attendant but no one came out....they quit after 9, and thankfully, the gators on the side of the fairway were sleeping.
Open fairways, Windy day
This was my first round at the Club at Savannah Harbor. The course was in excellent condition: greens, fairways, and tee boxes. Fairways were generously wide and some greens were oversized. Because many of the holes are tree-less, play can be affected when the wind kicks up (as it did on the day I played). Even so, I enjoyed my round and would play here again
Great Low country course
A shout out to both the staff and the course. Both were great. Smooth check in and great pace of play. Course conditions were excellent.
Some big greens that put a premium on putting and club selection, trust the GPS
Bonus! lots of alligators to see.
Father Son
Course in great condition. Greens were OK but a little shaggy. Had rain a couple days earlier so we weren't able to hit balls on the range.
Could have been better
Beautiful course staff was very nice. I was disappointed that they had a junior tournament going on and that i was only able to play 13 holes course was backed up. Greens were very slow and was not happy that i could not finish after paying $65.
Excellent course
I was really locking forward to playing the course got there an hour before my tee time and found out that they had a juniors tournament going on was only able to play 13 holes which was very disappointing. The lay out is gorgeous my only complaint was the greens was very slow.
The grass is still brown but the fairways are coming along just fine. soon enough all will be green and busy. Great course with the multi tees.
see above. I can't wait for the spring to come.
Long & Challenging
Great course, Long especially the par 3's and fairly challenging. The course is in excfellent shape and it was fun to putt on the greens. Staff was very friendly and some the views spectacular!
Great day, great views, great golf
Very friendly staff. We played on sunny day it seemed without anyone especially in the course. The views of the bridge, wetlands and river were fantastic. The course was in pretty good shape. Greens great with nice speed and right amount of undulations. The fairways had a lot of wetness to them so most of the time there wasn't any rollout. We had to play LC&P. We still were able to 90°cart being careful. Layout was nice challenge but not overwhelming. Choosing right tees helped. Wife and I had a great time and will be back.
Jan golf
The course is beautiful and well-maintained I played at a discount it was well worth it main concern is it is a little short for a real good golfer
Nice place
The course was in good shape for the conditions. The course was very wet as it was cart path only, even the cart paths were under water. Other that the wet conditions it was a very nice place.
Enjoyable track,…was able to air out the driver
Paired with a father and son from the North East. Both were excellent golfers that made me reach for my best play. The track was fun and not very difficult. We played from the yellow tees that offered approximately 6600 yds.
Great Course and Staff
Would have been 5 stars across the board however like so many courses across the area right now, very wet because of WAY TO MUCH RAIN! Because of this it was obvious the condition of the course was not up to the highest standards I have grown accustom to here, but with that said it is obvious the staff is doing all they can in spite of mother nature to keep the course in as great condition as possible. All staff encountered, from the cart guy to the pro shop, restaurant and on course personnel, every one was great!
Holiday fun.
The Club was a great outting in Savannah this Christmas holiday. The course was in great condition with winter green grass on both the fsirways and greens. Rain had soaked the area but the drainage was superior and 90' rule prevailed here when others were cart path only. Christmas Eve golf in 80 degree weather was a rare occurance in the South. Great staff in Pro Shop and on the course. The Westin Spa shares the club house so you can book a massage before you head to the 19th hole and dinner. Beware! A big ole aligator was sunning on the 17th hole today. So use caution when retrieving those balls in the marsh grasses....
Late Season Gem
This course is always in great shape and didn't disappoint once again. The course was pristine and lush even in mid-December. They also have great specials all of December so get out there and play!!
A MUST PLAY IN Savannah,GA.
If you're in the Savannah,GA area you must play this course. Its was a little pricey, but worth the cost. The greens were large and the fairways were a beautiful green throughout all 18 holes. We started @ 2:00PM and really didn't expect to finish, but we beat the darkness and played a fun 18 holes in 3.5 hours. The course is both fun and challenging, though the 243yd Par 3 was a bit much from the yellow tees. The staff was friendly and the practice areas were top notch. I will definitely return and recommend this course for the traveling golfer. OBTW, there are alligators on this course, so be cautious near water hazards.
Extremely slow round
I have played this course many times. It is always in excellent condition and is usually a fun (but challenging) course to play. Today though, it took 5 hours to play the round. We knew it would not be a fast round because we teed off after several foursomes but 5 hours was ridiculous and took much of the fun out of the round. The group ahead of us had at least a hole open in front of them the whole round but they never let us play through. We waited on almost every shot. After the round, one of my playing partners made a comment in the pro shop. They said we were playing behind the "general manager" of the resort. If anyone should know proper golf etiquette you would think he would. We will think twice before playing there again. We'd rather go to a course of lesser quality where we can play a round in 4 hours. If you have all day to play, play this course. Otherwise, go someplace else.
Awesome layout great golf course
1st time playing this course, great layout, great staff, everything about this course all that is promoted to be.great shape, only thing was it was cart path only, but it was a great day.probably the best course in the savanna area, its a must play.will be back in January with friends to play it again.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you experienced a slower than normal pace of play here at Savannah Harbor. Please call me at 912.201.2211 so I can learn more about your experience.
Thank you,
