Love the staff, love the course layout ,but this time the course is in bad shape, except the greens, right now it’s not worth the price..
Very enjoyable
Was a bit concerned when we arrived to find out that there was a 2 hour frost delay and a junior girls tournament out in front of us. We ended up teeing off just after 1 PM, but the pace of play was excellent (junior girls are much better to follow than arrogant senior men😂), the course layout was fun and the greens were good. We finished well before sunset. The range and warm up facilities were great. Definitely recommend.
A great golf facility!
Course Review: The Club at Savannah Harbor
Course History: Situated along the picturesque Savannah River, this course was designed by the renowned Robert Cupp, with input from legendary golfer Sam Snead. Once home to the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour, Savannah Harbor has built a reputation as one of the premier courses in the Southeast. Its rich history and scenic marshland views create an experience that blends tradition with natural beauty.
Course Conditions: Even in the middle of winter, the course was in outstanding shape. The greens rolled smooth and true, providing a fair but challenging test, while the fairways, despite being rain-soaked, were lush and well-maintained. It’s clear that the grounds crew here takes great pride in their work.
Layout Vibes: The course reminded me of a classic Country Club design, with many of the holes running side by side. This not only creates a nostalgic feel but also helps save a wayward shot or two (I’ll admit, my slice came in handy a few times!). The routing is friendly for all skill levels, while still offering plenty of strategic challenges.
Practice Facility: The range and practice areas are top-notch, perfect for warming up or dialing in your game. One standout feature was the massive shipping container set vertically on the range. It wasn’t just functional—it was fun! Hitting it produced the most satisfying PING, and it added a quirky touch to an already great practice area.
Pro Shop Saves the Day: I managed to forget my golf shoes, but the pro shop came to the rescue with a fantastic selection to choose from. The staff went above and beyond, offering helpful advice and ensuring I was ready for my round. Their friendliness and professionalism added to the overall experience.
Memorable Hole Alert: Aligator Alley, a tight par 4 bordered by marshland on the left, stood out as my favorite hole. Its demanding accuracy and unique layout made it both nerve-wracking and rewarding. It’s a hole that captures the essence of Savannah Harbor—challenging yet unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a course that seamlessly blends history, quality, and Southern hospitality, The Club at Savannah Harbor should be at the top of your list. I can’t wait to return—hopefully under sunnier skies!
Below Expectations
I have certain expectations for a course that’s charges over $100 dollars for a round and this course did not meet them. Greens had dead spots on several of them, Several of the tee boxes could hit the ground running in the New York City public golf
System, the layout was uninspired and frankly boring, and the pace of play was horrific!
The staff was nice, but for what I paid, I left disappointed that I forked over what I did to play for a course with this many short comings.
Savannah Harbor Golf
This course is one of the best golf courses in Savannah and the Lowcountry. I love playing here with friends and golf tournaments.
Fast Greens ..WOW
Everything is good great staff
.open bar a little longer .
This course was awesome to play!
Course staff was very friendly and welcoming when checking in for our tee time. Amenities were amazing with the drop-off bag service, the clubhouse bar, the clubhouse pro-shop, the course maintenance itself, and the club cleaning at the end of the round! Will definitely be back to play many more rounds!
No Driving Range
The facilities are part of the attraction for this course. Since they over seeded the driving range it was not open. Understandable, but disappointing nonetheless.
Perfect if Dry
This course was over saturated with water. It was raining and the fairways were soggy and they still had the sprinklers going! The course would be perfect if dry. The course is smooth and fully covered and the greens are the largest I’ve ever seen. Very nice!
Good Golf In Savannah
Big clubhouse, nice staff, and the golf course has a nice layout. Good amount of risk and rewards couple with the wind off the river and intracoastal and it was a good time. The only dissapointment is the pace of play but I will be lying if I did not expected that on a nice resort. Two foursomes hitting balls sideways got me drinking quick!
Pace of play was terrible - magnified with no Ranger out on the course. Driving range was chewed up, despite there being plenty of playable grass around the ropes off area. Expect more from a resort course.
