Pleasant Surprise
Fun course, from bag drop to departure, the staff and course were great ….. the sand trap sand is interesting …..
Will play here on next trip to the Big Island
Last round before heading home.
Some of the people need to learn some golf etiquette. You should be letting faster players play through rather than holding up play for the hole course.
Second last round before heading home
When we started, the starter said we had the course to ourselves. The next group is on hole 5 or six. We caught up to them on hole 13. It was a group of 5. A single was playing behind them and the 5-some wouldn't let him play through. They must be owners of the course and run it the way they want to. So unfortunate. So we followed the single who was following the 5-some. Took us near as long to play the last 5 holes as it did to play the first 13 holes.
The course is in great shape
Probably the best shape I have ever seen it in. We have been playing this course for many years. It provides the best bang for your buck compared to many of the other courses on the island.
Nice Course
Great day, great course, followed 2 fivesomes of very slow men on a busy Saturday. Not sure why they would allow that.
Good, but don't pay full price
The golf course is fun with generous fairways. Stay out of the bunkers, because it isn't sand, but a granular mix. Course is good at a discount rate, but I would not be happy to play this course and pay the non resident fee.
Great day
Nice course pro shop great staff helpful food in restaurant not so good
Solid course for average player.
I am an eighteen handicap and my wife a twenty and play on average twice a week. We enjoy golf for what it is. A day to hit some good shots and bad shots. This course as far as I am concerned will fit your needs in all areas.
Great value Course
Picked up a Hot deal on this RTJ junior track. Never get tired of playing this course
Course condition is slipping
While this is a beautiful course location and I enjoyed our round there is definitely room for improvement.
While the people in the office were very friendly, the starter was busy giving golf tips to a woman one the driving range and was clueless as to what was happeningon the course. For example, he held us up because he said a foursome had just gone out and walked away. After waiting for another 5 minutes I walked over to where he was talking with the women and asked if we could go to the 1st tee. He said OK, but when we got there we found there was another couple on the tee that we were supposed to be paired with. We were both surprised since the starter had not bothered to inform either couple that we were a foursome.
All four players in our group agreed that the course conditions have deteriorated. Examples here include only about 1/4 inch of sand and liner showing in many bunkers; greens appeared scored and very rough; and some fairways were burned out in spots.
There was no Marshall and pace of play was a little slow on the front nine, but picked up on the back where some players ahead of us dropped out after playing 9. There was also no refreshment cart, but we were provided bottles of water and ice with the golf cart. There is no GPS on the carts so bring your own if you use one.
All in all, we met some great people to play with and had a fun round, but all of us were a little disappointed that the course is not what it once was.
