Willowcrest
The only drawback was there was no water on the course for drinking nor was there a beverage cart. This could have been due to the early open??
Unacceptable pace of play
I had a 10:00am tee time, and it took over 2 1/2 hours to complete the front 9. A big part of the issue is that they were letting groups off every 9 minutes. There was a ranger that came by on a couple of occasions to ask about pace of play, even suggesting that we go back and play the first few holes again. When we finally finished the front nine, we decided to play the front nine again, since most of the groups were stalled in the back nine. It should not take longer than 2 hrs and 15 minutes to play each side of a course. And that’s assuming all the groups are foursomes. It was very frustrating and disappointing to say the least.
A Favorite
I don't get to play here often enough. The course is always maintained very well. About the only thing that could use improvement is a few areas on the cart paths can use some attention.
course hazzards
the worst sand traps I've ever played in! It was mud, hard and no sand!
Nice layout, great weekend price...but fix the bunkers!
Some long holes, interesting elevation changes, challenging par 3's and super fast greens with very tough reads. My only gripe after playing this course several times is the bunkers are basically dirt and more often than not we played clean and place out the the bunkers due to them being devoid of any sand whatsoever. Pace of play is somewhat slow on the weekends because they pack everyone in 8 minutes apart. Overall conditions and layout [and price] keep me coming back; fix the bunkers and I'll keep coming back for more.
Fall Golf at Willow Crest
Willow Crest has always been one of my favorite courses to play. The weather was perfect and the fairways and greens were nice as well. My only complaint is that the bunkers suffered from "end-of-the-season blues." The bunkers were like concrete mix waiting to dry. As long as I stayed out of the bunkers (in which I should), it was a perfect day for golf.
The golf course was so beautiful and nice, but the greens were not in good condition
If only I could have played the back 9 twice.
I was very disappointed with the front 9 . Can I get one more gated fence please . The course absolutely turned around on the back nine. Felt like we left and went to a different golf course.
