Could be better
You can score low on the front. Bring fairway woods to score on the back. Course plays longer than 6300 yards. Greens real good.
Fall golf
The conditions and cost were on par for fall season. Pace of play was good. Some greens were rough but to be expected in the time of the year.
Not really a resort type course. IMO
LAST CHANCE
TOO MANY PEOPLE MOVING LIKE A SNELL NEED A RANGER TO IMPROVE THE PACE
Tech deficient
Course is average but staff is pleasant. Carts do not have any technology so difficult to know distances. Especially difficult when wet and carts only on cart path so don't see markers other than 150 yard stick.
work to be done
yellow & red tees in bad condition fairways cut when weptloose grass
You get what you pay for
Rained a lot the day before but bad drainage system. Tee boxes in pretty bad shape. Was cheap, but likely not going back. Would pay more for a nicer course.
Gonna put in my course rotation.
For the end of a season, the course is in excellent shape. Layout is tight, and the rough is a tad long in some places ,as are most courses....I used a 3 wood instead of driver on most and stayed in the fairways. Greens are fast and smooth. Par 3's are a challenge, happy with bogey on a couple of them.. Overall a nice course for the price. super friendly staff!
Disappointed
Course needs a lot of work, tee boxes are on terrible shape, including greens and there is NO bathrooms, Water nor ball cleaners.
Avoid
Used to be in good shape but it’s a mess now. Crowned tee boxes, gravel sand traps, dirt on tees and greens, and cups are on an angle. It’s not a nice course.
Early Round
Overall the round was good except for the back 9. There was a foursome a couple groups ahead of our group that played at a very slow pace and there was no marshal to make sure their pace was quicker. We played the front nine in 90 minutes but the back nine it took over two hours.
What happened!
Unfortunately for being a Resort course, its up keep and conditions have declined dramatically. At least 50% of the tee boxes and greens are in poor conditions, but the sand traps were surprisingly kept in good condition. I'm hoping that Covid has a lot to do with its up keep, but it could be one of those great ole tracks finally reaching its longevity in Chicago golf.
Ragged
As summer comes to a close it is obvious that this course is suffering from a lack of care. The tee boxes are nearly all chewed up and the greens have been badly neglected. If you can get out for a reasonable fee it is worth it but if paying full price, you’ll be disappointed.
