Fort Golf Course Resort
About Fort Golf Course Resort
The Fort Golf Course Resort was created in 1996 from Fort Benjamin Harrison, once a key U.S. Army post. The redeveloped military base has become a popular 1,700-acre state park with hills galore for hikers, bikers and golfers. Owned and operated by the State of Indiana, the 7,148-yard Pete Dye design features tree-lined fairways and Dye’s penchant for tough and interesting holes. The Fort Harrison Inn, a limestone structure built in the 1940s, offers 27 rooms and suites and the Garrison Restaurant. The Harrison House (seven more rooms and suites) and four Officer Homes are also available for overnight stays.Facts

Outstanding tract
Challenging but fair. Used most of my clubs. Green are in good shape.
Great Course
The course is the best in central Indy. Because it is so popular the course tends to get crowded. The pace is slower when certain golfers think they can play certain tee boxes. My wife and I were paired with a father and son who were great company and lots of fun to play with. However a five hour round is a little long.
Not in as good of shape as expected. Fairways partially dried out & bunkers unworked.
Terrible condition
You can’t charge $100 for a course with bunkers that haven’t been cared for and greens that are falling apart. They need workers. Our government needs to support them with staff or cut charge in half.
Best in Indy!
This is my old “Home” course when I lived in Indy 21 years ago. It is a great course, very challenging, but very rewarding if you’re in the fairways. With GolfNow & my Golf Pass rewards it was only $48, which is a steal!
I played it 3 times while I was vacationing in Indy in June & July this summer.
If you haven’t played it yet, book a tee time!
Hot day for golf!
This was my home course when I lived here 21 years ago. Always love to play it when I back in town. Found a Golf Pass deal for $48!
I’ll be back next summer! Shot a 84!
Fort
Greens were rough but overall a great track and fun layout. In particular, thought the par fours were a good length from the blues. Not too long and not too short.
One of My Favorites
The Fort is set in Fort Harrison State Park on the East side of Indy, and it’s absolutely stunning. It’s beautiful, and you never know what kind of nature you might happen across while getting your butt kicked on the course! The greens are vast and break every which way, so most of my strokes gained come from putting. It’s a great layout and generally in great condition. Water does tend to pool in spots, but being in a location with so many nature preserves, they can’t use the same chemicals as others to treat the grass. I love the course and will keep returning.
Great course and can't wait to play it again!
This course really surprised me. Conditions were really good for a public course and layout was amazing. It is a Pete Dye course so that's to be expected. Really love that this course had some undulating terrain, and wasn't flat like most of Indiana. Practice area was nice too as they even had a chipping and pitching green. Can't wait to play this course again.
Eastside Reliable
Green fees have gone up everywhere but this place still maintains its luster., unlike other places that charges this high. Well staffed with Marshalls that help you enjoy your round by covering all aspects of your experience.
