Fort Golf Course Resort

This round started with heavy rain, but by hole 3, the rain went away and I was able to enjoy this round with my Father. This course requires good course management when playing shots, which feels like on every shot. Course layout is great, greens are fair, and staff is wonderful. This course will challenge your skills - go enjoy!

Always a good time on this course. The rough was extra long so it played very tough!

Played here with a buddy that hadnt played this course before. Check in was smooth. The starter was a great guy and we had a nice conversation. The course was in great shape fairways and greens but the bunkers were a little sloppy really really fine sand (nitpicky I know) but there was grass clippings off the fairways and it made for a tough time finding wayward balls. Over all this was a great day on the course and I would certainly recommend this course to all golfers.

Zipped around as a twosome being courteously waved through by five groups, fast greens and heavy rough rewarded accuracy. Sometimes this place can be snooty, like they think they are St. Andrews, but didn’t get that this time. Great round.

Even loosing a considerable amount of Money it was a Wonderful Day

The Fort is in good shape for this time of year. They have an ant problem on a lot of greens that I'm sure they'll attend to in the coming days as the weather continues to improve. That said on this perfect day, we were still trapped in the usual death march that can be found there during the summer until a ranger was nice enough to force the group that was holding up the entire course to stand aside while we played through. Averted what could've been a messy situation as we already had been hit into by the group behind us more than once waiting for these guys in front of us, so it was only a matter of time that someone would've boiled over, and the ranger handled it very professionally.

That said, the course deserves the accolades it gets for the layout, and it's always worth a stop.

It was very wet and cart path only.

Played from the white tees just under 6200yds, I love Pete Dye designed courses and tee yardages.

Will definitely play this course many more times but from the blue tees next time.

My favorite public course in Indiana. Outstanding course conditioning. Extremely friendly staff. Very scenic course. Play from the correct tees and this course is challenging but manageable. Select the wrong tees and it will eat your lunch. Very much worth the 2+ hours traveled to play. They offer reasonably priced stay & play packages. Can't wait to return.

We love to play this course. Great layout, and the changes in elevation make it unique in the Indianapolis area.

Course looks great but bad course management. Their tee times are booked to close and the rangers do not oversee the course and the speed of play. We were held up the whole front 9. We reached 10 and there was someone driving to the green, a group in the fairway, a group on the tee box, and then us. Horrible course management. There was a outting 9 holes a head of us. Was told only 1 group ahead of us. Come to find out the outting guys started up again ahead of us to play more. Horrible course management. Played in July and almost the exact same thing at 10 minus the outting. A shame since it’s a nice course, at a high price, but the management does not know how to run the course properly. New management could make the course superb if it was managed properly on and off the course.

The Fort is one of the best courses in the Indianapolis area. It was in fantastic shape today. The greens were rolling fast and true. Every aspect of the course was maintained at a high level. I highly recommend playing here, especially when you can get a great rate via GolfNow!

The fort is my favorite layout in Indianapolis. I love the rustic feel and the state park being all around you. I like seeing wild life on the course that you generally don't see in the rest of town. The tees were in good shape, the fairways were perfect and the greens had pock marks all over them. I just assume the course gets played to death because we had an afternoon tee time. It took 4.5 hours for the round and nothing was done about pace of play. I will give the course a go no question, but I would like to see rangers helping expedite the round when a single group is holding up the track.

This was a very pleasant experience, even with the slow play. While waiting, it was enjoyable to look at the beautiful views and plants along the way. I found the course to be very "woman friendly ". My husband also enjoyed the course. It had an interesting layout. We weren't used to bent grass greens but they rolled well and we were getting our speed better toward the end. There were some divots in the fairways and a few ball marks on the greens, but the friendliness of the staff made up for that. I hope to play this course again.

Hot and humid but a great day for golf on a wonderful course with great people working the desk and as the starter and rangers..

Will play it again.
