Fort Golf Course Resort
About Fort Golf Course Resort
The Fort Golf Course Resort was created in 1996 from Fort Benjamin Harrison, once a key U.S. Army post. The redeveloped military base has become a popular 1,700-acre state park with hills galore for hikers, bikers and golfers. Owned and operated by the State of Indiana, the 7,148-yard Pete Dye design features tree-lined fairways and Dye’s penchant for tough and interesting holes. The Fort Harrison Inn, a limestone structure built in the 1940s, offers 27 rooms and suites and the Garrison Restaurant. The Harrison House (seven more rooms and suites) and four Officer Homes are also available for overnight stays.Facts

Cart path only
I learned to call the course before booking online as it was cart path only for no good reason at all and everyone that works there agreed. Minus the superintendent
Terrible staff, Great Course
The course itself is excellent and a Pete Dye beauty. Pretty well maintained, although it can get run down in the later summer months. It is very challenging at times but rewarding in spots. A true gem in Central Indiana. The staff, on the other hand, are consistently a challenge to deal with... almost always rude, particularly in the pro shop. This was again the case for my first time at The Fort this season. Just unacceptable for $100+ (on weekends) course in Indiana. I will say the starter recently has been excellent, although that wasn't always the case.
I'm local and have played here 20+ times and always know going in the pro-shop staff will be an older man who will likely struggle with the basic technology and be down-right rude. If your lucky, minimally cordial. I try to manage my expectations knowing that the course is worth it but with the pace of play being awful and Cart Path Only on a dry and sunny day, it will likely be my last time at The Fort, which is a pity. This Pete Dye masterpiece deserves better!
18 holes of perfect golf!
Perfect, except my score, but the weather was great and it was cart path only for carts, wo we got our steps in, but course was in good shape.
Pricey, but great course
One of the best layouts in our city and is in great early condition. Staff could be friendlier and price is a bit steep for Indy.
Beautiful Course
This course was so much fun to play and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. For it being November there was still a lot of green out there.
Great course
Bathrooms were locked, frustrating. Great course, BEAUTIFUL property
Course
Love the course. One of my favorites Only issue I have is that range was closed and I did not receive notification that it was.
Aeration
I would appreciate it if they let me know the course aeration before we book.
Great course!
Great layout and course that feels like you are not playing golf in Indiana. Pace of play was slower than normal on a busy fall day.
Amazing conditions
Some of the greens were spiked
If not, it would have been a 5+
Pete Dye didn’t disappoint
We will be back
Early Fall
We had a great time playing this course today before all leave fall, cousre and weather conditons are perfect!
Great course, poor pace of play
We were told when we checked in we probably wouldn’t get more than 14 holes in even though we had 4 hours from tee time to sunset. I questioned what their pace of play was and they said 4.5 hours and they didn’t care of fast we played. I understand the course is full but they had a ranger going around but he wasn’t enforcing pace. As we left we asked the group on 18 their tee time and they said 3 pm meaning it took them close to 5 hours.
The course itself is great but could be ran better.
Best court in Indiana!
I cut my teeth on this course back in the 80’s. It was tough then. Mr Dye has made it even tougher!
In my opinion it’s my “Augusta.”
Come play it, keep it in the short grass!
