Best course in our area
Love this course. Always have. Had multiple groups booked for the same tee time, and it seemed like everyone else was all bunched up together. It was pretty slow play at times for that reason. Seems to null out the point of having a tee time, but the course is amazing, and was in great shape especially for this late in the year. Looking forward to the next time.
Beautiful day to be utsude
If you’ve not played this course you should. Besides the 7000+ yards from the tips with plush fairways cut short it’s a beautiful view cut through the woods especially now with the leaves changing. The course boast a great deal of sand bunkers most of which have been redone with a patented process that prevents them from washing away in rain. Great value. Only drawback this day was the speed of play. We waited nearly every shot from our 3rd hole.
Not a good Happy Birthday.
My wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I said, lets go play Dale Hallow. That ended up being a mistake.
Overall, the course was in good shape. The course is getting ready for the winter, so greens were sanded a few weeks ago, and work is going around the course. But, still the course was in really good shape.
As always, the staff is friendly and very welcoming. There was a sign when walking out of the pro shop that said "No groups larger than 4". I really wish that was true.
We teed off and I was surprised there was no starter and no marshals on the course. Play was brisk and then when got to Hole #3. A fivesome was in front of us. I called the pro-shop and they sent out a marshal who told that group to let us play through. Shame on Dale Hallow for letting that happen and continue to happen without breaking that large group up. So the entire day, everyone had to work around that group. What ever happened to pace of play and golf etiquette. Not sure why this was allowed. Not sure why the course was not marshalled.
After people got around the fivesome, it caused everything to just play slow. Needless to say, the group behind us got overly impatient and hit into us several times. Again, the fivesome caused several problems for everyone. throughout the day.
Its a shame, Dale Hallow is a challenging beautiful course but pace of play has always been a problem. Please Dale Hallow manage your course!!!!
Outstanding Golf Experience
As others have said bunkering, while well designed and wonderfully frames shot placement, is a project in progress. Some are completely renovated, some in a stage of renovation, and a slight majority are basically unplayable. Take relief and call it good.
This is a visually stunning golf course. It is also very playable but no way walkable. Greens complexes are interesting and greens contours challenging..
t
There are very few of the 350 courses have played that provide as much value . Can’t wait to come back. The Lodge is a great place to stay and eat.
Great value, very quiet and scenic c, lots of challenging holes. She red of play was great.
Course Condition
I love the course.
Many courses have trouble maintaining sand traps/bunkers. I layout when a bunker is not maintained. I think they should remove bunkers if not going to maintain them.
The course is beautiful, and wildlife is everywhere.
Relative to other courses I play it is a five. The hazards are my only issue.
Great experience
Course was in great shape, bunkers have improved. The only other group we saw was on 18. This course will test your shotmaking.
Good Challenge
Overall, the course played well. A number of tough holes. Greens were somewhat pot marked and many were challenging to read. Thought that the course was fair in it's layout with many blind holes. Well worth the money.
Great Coarse
Wonderful coarse layers out in a great way to preserve nature
