Golf Scramble Out After Starting
Great location, scenic! Friendly staff. Course was in good shape. Bad thing! They sent a shotgun scramble out during our round. It delayed us for hours. We lost our momentum and enthusiasm. I would recommend the course but check to see if they have a scramble scheduled.
Awesome course
The course is in great shape and the greens are also in great shape. It is fun to play for all types of handicaps.
Great condition
Hats off to the course workers, it is in great condition.
Nice Course close to Lake Barkley Lodge
My wife and I played this course twice this past week. The course is in very good condition. The fairways were good and the greens were excellent. Watch for the stones in the bunkers. They can be hidden just under the sand, making blasting out an experience. The staff was excellent as was the cart drink lady. The carts are excellent as in new. We saw several deer and turkeys. I will play this course when I'm in the area.
NICE
MY HUSBAND AND I ALWAYS ENJOY OUR GOLF DAY AT BOOTS! RAIN OR SHINE
Nice course
This is a nice course. The staff was very friendly. The course is well maintained. There are a few challenging holes with just enough water and trees to make it interesting!
Fun nice condition
Great price with a hot deal. Fun to play except bunkers bneed lots more sand. Watch the little rock creeks across several fairways. Will play again.
Great State Park Course
The course was in great shape despite heavy rains the week before. Bentgrass greens were absolutely beautiful and in perfect condition despite high temperatures and humidity. Some of the fairways were cart paths only, but was to be expected since there was about 10 inches of rain the week before. Great course and pace of play was excellent!
Great little course.....will play it again!
Well, I retired a year ago and decided to teach myself to play golf. I'm playing about 4 times a week. The first thing is this course was in pretty good shape, and I've played a few courses. The greens needed some attention but overall very nice condition. One of the nicest things was I played on Saturday, and I only saw one golfer in 18 holes in my direction of play. At 68 yrs old I've been shooting mostly low to mid 80's....WELL...on this course I shot my year low at 74. I will definitely be going back here. (ps) the cart return (barn) is at the far end of the parking lot, and when I returned the cart a woman who works there came with another cart to give me a ride back. NICE TOUCH to a Great Day.
GO PLAY THIS COURSE
From the time, I entered the facility to check in, it was wonderful. The lady at the counter was business friendly, and just started the round out well.
The course has some very difficult holes, but was in good condition from tee to green. I did think there was a lot of distance from the gold tees around 5700 and the white at 6600, but beyond that the course is as fine a course as I have played in sometime. It had been 15 years since I had played there, but plan to go back as soon as possible. It is not close to my residence.
If in the area, it is a must play.
Great variety of challenges
Excellent outing on a very nice course. Challenging on certain holes so bring plenty balls.
ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COURSES
VERY SCENIC COURSE, GREAT STAFF
HIGHLY PLAYABLE, SMOOTH GREENS
Great Course
The course was in good shape and the greens were rolling great especially for the weather we had this year. Most of the winter kill in the fairways has either been repaired or in processed of being repaired. This is a great course and fun to play.
Has potential
I thought the course Layout had potential. The greens were way too soft and fairly slow for August. Some holes from the back tees were unfair with trees hanging over the line of flight that didn't affect my wife from the forward tees. Tight front nine caused slow play with people looking for balls. With firmer faster greens and some tree work, it would be enjoyable to play!
Decent course
Fairways were pretty patchy, some bare spots and some extremely tall grass in others. Greens were very slow. Cart paths were in very bad shape. Several nicer courses around.
This was my last round here.
Large sections of most fairways had no grass nor any signs that the huge bare sections were going to be seeded. One par 5 had been reduced to a par 3 because the fairway was in such poor condition. It appears to be permanent. Probably the worst fairway conditions of any course I have played in years. Kentucky State Park courses used to be a draw for golf tourism. Not anymore. All are all in rapid decline. I will spend my money in another state in the future.
Dear Fred Mueller,
We gals at the cart barn on Saturday are volunteers. We try to cart people back to their cars if they want, especially when that parking lot is 90 degrees plus! We appreciate you bringing your cart down to the barn and hope you had a great round of golf!
