Lexington Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa

I dont see this being a $75 course. However, anytime you can play here for less then $30 id jump all over it. Excellent course, in great shape. Greens were amazing. Tight course that winds through some neighborhoods. I loved this course, it was def well taken care of. If course conditions and smooth greens are your thing then this is your course. .

Very friendly staff. Course in good condition and greens rolling smoothly. Not long but some holes challenging Would recommend to anyone.

I have played this course for many years and never have I seen it so pristine. The bunkers greens fairways and rough all were well manicured. Recently played Tidewater and Fazio Barefoot course and neither were in better condition than Griffin Gate.

Super friendly staff and course was in great condition. I would definitely recommend. The houses on the back were a little

too close and a challenge for my playing partners. But overall it was a nice day and wonderful experience.

Conditions were great! Unbelievable even with it being February. Watch out for all the geese haha. Awesome layout and friendly staff.

First time playing this course and was kind of hesitant after reading another review. I drove by the course the day prior to take a look. This course is in outstanding condition, especially for this time of year. Clubhouse is having some work done on it, but everything else looked great. If i had anything bad to say, it would be, for such a nice golf course, they need a driving range. Also, the score cards need to be updated with a pic of the course layout of each hole in the back. This is a great course that is extremely challenging for any golfers skill set. Im retired military, and it was great to visit my home town and play at a nice course...

I have played here many times and this is the first time I was very disappointed.. I can not recommend this course right now. The greens are unputtable. Between splotches of live grass and dormant grasses, there is no way to get any type of decent roll. The rest of the course was in decent shape for February but.... if you can't at least semi-reliably putt you may as well take a walk in the woods.

Also... the clubhouse is under renovation. The only food or drink is soda and snacks. The only bathroom is halfway down the first fairway. On this date all other bathrooms on course were closed. Not a big deal... Just a heads up.. As i said in the header... I would wait for May.. I paid a bargain rate that at this point in time was extremely overpriced!! There are better opportunities to play in the Lexington area right now.

played it before several years ago going to play it more now the course was in great shape for the time of year we played the only thing was the greens was wet and slow which was expected since it rain a couple of days before we played

The course is too close to the houses in the area and is overpriced compared to other better courses in the Lexington area, Play the U club instead or Cherry Blossom

I enjoy coming to this course, nice during the summer months, and still green during the winter. Staff is always friendly and helpful and makes us feel wanted and welcome. Course is somewhat challenging with some water, bunkers, and rough.

Played this off of Golf Now for a HOT RATE of $10.00 and I had a $10.00 discount so I paid $3.94 for my round.. Played the white tees which are the second set and the course played fairly short but I'm not a long hitter any more so I tee it forward.. The course as usual was in excellent condition they had worked on the green they was a little sand but did not effect play ball rolled beautifully However I couldn't hit a Birdie putt.. Shot 75 had a blast enjoyed myself..

Very nice track and layout. First time playing it and would recommend most definitely to anyone. Played on a Sunday morning and pace of play was

excellent. Only course I have played this season that had sand in bunkers you could actually hit out

of. Coming back with a foursome next time

This is a Marriott Course with a BIG name designer.

I was expecting such.

Overall - this should be a Best Western (or Super 8) Course!

Layout is very good, the greens OK/Good, Fairways good, Club house good.

Now the reason why it should be a Best Western/Super 8 -

No driving range - just cages.

Off the fairways and slightly off the rough - the un-mowed grass and weeds dominate! It appears that the wild areas (which are just off the fairway) has not been touched in months! It makes the course look "trashy"!

If the Grounds crew "CLEANS UP" the surrounding area, then this might be a good looking course. However, in its present condition, it distracts from the course layout and golf experience.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The course was in excellent condition; fairways and greens were perfect.

The cart path was not marked at points where you could two directions making it difficult to find the next hole. More than that there was no layout of the course on either the scorecard or tee markers. There were several places where water went across and you had no idea it was there. There were times that a hole played left to right or right to left again with no notion beforehand. In any case the course was in good shape and I enjoyed my round. I would recommend it to others, but advise them to pay attention to hazards and directions.
