Carter Plantation is located near Baton Rouge and features an 18-hole semi-private golf course opened in 2003 and designed by David Toms. The Villas at Carter Plantation, independently owned and operated from the golf club, feature 7 villas that can break out into 45 guest suites, so they are flexible for both individual and large group stays. Rooms include refrigerators and king or queen size beds. Some units have fully equipped kitchens and in-suite catering service is available.Facts

Great condition
Had 5 some a couple groups ahead that slowed all down
If we wouldn’t have gotten paired up with a crack head then it would be a 5/5 stars. Would have liked to have played with just me and my 2 friends without the other guy yapping in our ear all day . Still a great course and will be back

Excellent course with a great practice facility and really good staff personnel. Course is challenging but maintained really well. One of the best courses you can play as far as conditions and challenging your game to help you get better. Play easy courses and you never get better. You have to shape your shots and really think about your shot placements. I love this course! Too bad I live in Gretna because I would play it more than I do. You definitely won't be disappointed, play it. Worth every penny.

Slow slow
First course here with proper bag drop and cart preparation. Ilike the feature that You can drive through the building to the practice area, although it was closed now. Good quality putting green and driving range balls are included with the green fee.
The cart was fine, but an issue with the brakes.
The course was in a good state, though the greens are a bit soft. Any landing on the green just stops the ball.
Quite challenging greens to put, not easy (for me) to find the right line.
The course is open. Did not the the rough too often. Heavy sand in the bunkers, not hard like some other places.
Unfortunately they pack too little time between the tee off times. With cart it took me over 4 hours to complete the 18 holes. That kinda takes the fun out of it since it is not easy get a rhythm. Plenty time for meditation though.

Played 5 holes before the heavy rain sent us home. Staff very good in working with us and providing rain checks for the four of us. Pro-rated on the number of holes played so you have a choice when your return to begin at the next hole without any additional charges or start at No.1 and pay the difference between your rain check and the 18-hole fee. Rain check good for 90 days.

Fun course
Played today with old friends. Enjoyed the course very much, as it was in good condition. Lots of afternoon work being done, somewhat distracting. We do plan to come back again...

Good till it rained!
Had a good time playing until the rain came down on us on our back 9. Course was in great shape and Staff was courteous and professional. COVID precautions were in place.

Never disappointed to get a round in at Carter Plantation. Pace of play can stack up at times, but that's nothing against the course itself. I'd much rather wait a couple minutes in between shots to play at a nice course such as Carter Plantation.
