Carter Plantation is located near Baton Rouge and features an 18-hole semi-private golf course opened in 2003 and designed by David Toms. The Villas at Carter Plantation, independently owned and operated from the golf club, feature 7 villas that can break out into 45 guest suites, so they are flexible for both individual and large group stays. Rooms include refrigerators and king or queen size beds. Some units have fully equipped kitchens and in-suite catering service is available.Facts

Would Play Again
Course was in great shape with great facilities, and good track. Pace of play was a little slow for my liking but on pace per the course expectations. Greens were quick but honest, only issue we had was no cart availability upon arrival.
Always Exceeds Expectations!!
Amazing Staff! Amazing Facility! Amazing Course! Still my absolute favorite course in LA,MS and AL. Pace of play needs attention but that is the only thing anyone can say negative about Carter Plantation Golf Course!! Absolutely the best staff, facility and course that I try to play anytime I get the opportunity.

Pace of play is the worst I’ve experienced
The course is nice, decently maintained and the greens are great. The staff is friendly. The layout is very pretty. But the pace of play is horrendous and has been for a few years now. They allow 5somes and 6somes. There’s no one addressing anything related to pace of play. It has become so bad I’m no longer interested in returning. Nothing worse that 5+ hour rounds and not even an attempt to improve it. You literally have to warm up before every tee shot. Getting to the next tee box, only to find the group ahead of you still waiting for the group in front of them to hit is as frustrating as hitting a bad shot itself. I’m done with this beautiful golf course that is poorly managed.

Very Slow Pace of Play
Very slow pace of play. I was a single and wasn’t able to play through due to every group with groups ahead of them. Makes for a long round but still my favorite course within 60 miles of my home. Great Course!!
