Course Closed with no Notification
We showed up for our tee time and the course was closed with no notification. Fortunately the Golden Nugget course was open and we were able to play there.
It’s not hard to notify people with reservations that the course is closed due to rain.
Contraband Bayou
Enjoyed the round. Staff was very nice. Cart was brand new. Good track. Fairways were in excellent shape. Not a great deal of topography, but that's what you get down here. The range was closed so we couldn't warm up properly. Shame on me for not calling ahead. No food available and limited on drinks/beer in the roving drink cart. But it's tied to a casino so obviously they want you eating at the casino, not at the clubhouse.
Pretty ok
Considering it was completely under water two years earlier- it’s pretty good. Some of the greens are covered with an invasive grass, but overall it’s a good course.
Fun course, but…
This course was a lot of fun. My buddy and I played a round on a Sunday at 9:15. Wasn’t crowded at all. No one in front of us or behind. I thought the layout of the course and surroundings were awesome. They charged us $65 to play which in my opinion should be the very highest price you should pay. I don’t think it’s worth the 95 or whatever price they normally charge. Greens were very sandy, grainy, and slow. And the lies in the fairway were good not great. Which is why I can’t give this course 5 stars. All in all though I would recommend trying it out.
Need to upgrade the golf carts
The course is pretty nice, fairways/bunkers are very nice, greens were really sandy and slow. Leaving this place 3 stars because they need to upgrade or maintenance the golf carts. Our first cart died on us on hole 6, then the next cart barely make it past 18! Also the gps on the second cart didn’t even work.
Nice Course
Enjoyed taking advantage of the wide fairways. If you are right handed and a slicer you have no water (very little anyway) to worry about. Greens rolled good and accepted the ball well upon hitting the greens. Nice course but still think its a little overpriced for the area.
The course was sanded
I have played this course several times before but today the course greens was all sanded and not ready for play. If the course would have told me all greens was punched and sanded I would have not paid to play this course. It was not worth $72.00 to play on sanded greens.
Greens bad.
The golf course did not tell us they sanded the greens before we paid to play. The green was horrible and full of sand like a beach. If I knew the greens was sanded I would have not played this course today.
