Recovering after the hurricanes
Contraband is a fine course. I have played it when it was manicured-- in perfect condition.
This time, work is being done to recover from the damage of multiple hurricanes. A forest of trees is down and is being cleared. The greens are bumpy with little sprouts that need to be eradicated.
Despite all that, our threesome enjoyed the day and the play.
Fun Course
Course was in very good condition, especially in recovery from hurricane damage.
Good and bad
Great layout little pricey limited staff experience and friendliness
Very good course for the money
Course was in very good shape (other than bunkers). Fairways had a few thin spots but overall very playable. Greens were ok, rolled true but speed was inconsistent. Had a great time and our threesome played 18 in 2 and a half hours.
Course in great shape. Staff in need of an overhaul.
Great layout but has some issues
Played the course twice as it was the only course open in the area.
Great layout and played in 31/2 hours.
Cant be too hard as the entire area is still recovering from hurricane damage.
Bunkers were unplayable but rest of the course was in good condition .
Greens not fast but were smooth.
Will return after they've had time to recover .
Fazio design?? Really....
Played there for first time today, only because I wouldn’t pay the $119 they always wanted. Got a deal on GN, so figured I would try.
Very boring layout and design. Back and forth, back and forth. Nothing really special about any of the holes. Very disappointed for a Fazio design. By the time I got to the back 9, I almost fell asleep.
I play quite a bit, and love a good challenge - something that makes me focus, or at least has some character.
In all fairness, staff was super friendly, course was in good shape considering 2 hurricanes in last 3 months, greens weren’t bad either.
Not worth $119 buck though, and maybe not half that.
I’m sure I’ll play it again, but only if it’s a really cheap rate.
Average but good course
Some tee boxes need attention. Greens are very slow. General condition of course is better than most. This isn’t a $100 golf course, but being at a casino drives that. Good, average course to go play if you don’t mind spending $100 to play an average course.

Excellent course, well worth my money. My wife really enjoyed herself playing. She doesn't play very much, so it was really great to see her enjoyed the pace of play and not be rushed.
