Pace mgmt needs work
We played the front 9 and the pace was better than average (inside 2h)…at the turn we noticed a back up of 4 foursomes…we (2some) waited over 30 minutes to tee off the 10th hole…the next 3 holes were slow but reasonable…at the 13th it was beyond crazy slow—literally stopped for 20min…we left and had a margarita, playing only 12 holes (do the math $160/12)—if not for this glitch I would have made a 2 day event on my way back from Whistling Straits. Shame. Am not sure how this happened…random golf lice sneaking on the turn?
Great track
Super nice course. Well maintained. Beautiful views. Thick rough. Average speed greens.
One of the better public courses in SE Michigan
It's one of the better public courses in SE Michigan. Many good courses in the area, but this one has the best views and use of water of any that I've played in the area.
One of the best in southern Michigan
This course is difficult but worth the price as many holes are memorable. Target golf for a lot of holes and the greens are no joke.
MUST get their early to hit a bucket on the range as it is one of the most stunning I have ever used in over 60 courses
Goose crap
There was goose crap all over the course. One hole was over run by them. No cart girl, even though we were told there was. 20 percent gratuity on a Gatorade! Way better a cheaper golf courses out there!
The pace of play at Eagle Crest is very subpar
My buddy and I had a weekday twilight tee time at 6:20PM for a decent deal, $40 for twilight at supposedly one of the nicer courses around. We arrive 15 minutes early and are hitting a few putts to warm up. Next, we meet our two playing partners and are waiting a little bit past 6:20 until the starter gives us the option to start on the front or the back. We obviously asked him whichever is more open and allows us to get the most amount of holes in. He replies that they are roughly the same so we decide on the front. As we are driving down to the tee box, there is a twosome in front of us waiting to tee off. Obviously, we are a little upset but still not that big of a deal. The twosome takes quite a bit of time to reach near the green and I hit my tee shot first. Before anyone else hits their tee shot, the starter tells us that there is a twosome making the turn from 18 to 1… We all decide to hit our tee shots and proceed to wait for the group behind us to “make the turn” while we are slowly getting more irritated. I end up talking to the starter and he gives me an explanation that I didn’t quite understand and tells us he can get us off the back. We all drive to pick up our tee shots on hole #1 to then follow the starter to #10. We arrive at #10 and finally tee off at 6:45, 25 minutes past our allotted tee time. While I appreciate the starter acknowledging his mistake and apologizing, for a course that is supposed to be as nice and highly run as Eagle Crest, I would expect to tee off at my designated time and not 25 minutes late, even if it is twilight during the week. Furthermore, we were only able to finish 9 holes at a 6:20 tee time due to the slow pace of play. Overall, the course was kept in decent shape, but I was thoroughly disappointed in the pace of play that made the round very difficult to enjoy. I have played this course two other times and have run into similar problems with slow pace of play, so this is not a one time issue. I hope that their staff and leadership can resolve this issue to better accommodate to their customers, especially given the high rates that they charge, customers should receive an experience representative to that.
Course was amazing!!
Course was beautiful, greens are nice they are fast, our starter was very knowledgeable about the course and the greens and gave us some great tips. My only downfall was the group in front of us was very slow, when we fell behind time they should send someone out.
Michigan Gem
Great course
Pricing but we’ll worth the extra money
Friendly staff, angry greens.
All of the staff here were perfect. Friendly, helpful, went above and beyond. The course is short, tight in some spots, and water everywhere. The greens were very challenging: large with lots of slope and in great shape. Hard to read but rolled true and fast. The views are amazing, the course was in great shape, and we had a great time.
