The Bay Valley Resort in Bay City can be enjoyed for business or pleasure. The resort is centrally located right off of Interstate-75 in Michigan's mid-section. Lake and golf course views can be had from the Royal Troon Ballroom, dining outdoor terrace and Player's Lounge. Guest rooms feature one king-sized bed or two double beds. Parlor suites include a king bed and comfortable seating area. Complimentary continental breakfast and internet, a fitness room, hot tub, sauna, live entertainment and an indoor/outdoor heated pool are just a few of the perks. Water hazards define the golf course, designed by Desmond Muirhead in 1973.Facts

Had a good time
Conditions of the course was good, greens were good. Cart paths rough, bridge on #3, scary. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Pace of play was good, wife and I played in 3 1/2 hours with a half hour rain delay.
Golf
We had a good time. I recommend this course anytime.
The Only issue that I did not like was the grounds guys, mowing 15 ft from me shooting. Also boy string trimming 20ft from us on tee off.
Common courtesy is usually best.

We agree that common courtesy is always a best practice, and are saddened that we did not meet those expectations during your visit. Bay valley is Great
This course is great for some nice open holes and then some real challenging holes. Fantastic course for the price.

Great course
Course was fun, challenging and in good shape. It wasn't overcrowded and it has a fantastic staff.

Great time as always
We take a weekend trip to Bay Valley for a group golf outing every year and have for the past 15 years. The facility has always been accommodating and the staff is exceptional, especially Meghan and Sharon. Would recommend.

Great Golf Course
This was our first time at Bay Valley GC.
Great golf course with great staff. Condition of GC was perfect. I would highly recommend this golf course to all.

Great local course
Just went for father's day. Course looked really good, fairways were excellent. Greens were a bit tricky but fun and challenging. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Great Value, great course
Thought the course was maintain pretty well. A handful of brown grass on the greens. Will play here again

Great golf course.
Great golf course in excellent condition. Fast greens. Very playable course.
Nice Course
The course was in good shape for this time of year. Sand was a bit grainey compared to the fine sand we have in West Michigan. Some beautiful water holes that can jump up and bite you if you are not cautious.
Local play
Coarse is in great shape. Play time was a little long. We were backed up 3 deep on a few holes and didn't see a ranger to help move play along.
Bay gem
The guy in the pro shop said if you start now you should have the back nine wide open he was right and we turned to the front nine with smooth sailing We were going to eat dinner there but went in the restaurant and could not even get a drink I mean no one was around to wait on customers. We cut our losses and headed down the road to eat somewhere else
Tight Drives
Several holes can get you in trouble with the driver, but the course is just long enough to force you to use it. Several greens had rough/dry patches.
nice course
Very nice course for the money. Well manitained. Staff was friendly.
New Grounds Keeper is awesome!!!
People in the area know this course as the gem that has gone downhill through the years, that is no longer what it will be known as. The new grounds keeper is taking special care of the course. A lot of the trees have been trimmed to allow better views of the course and also no lost balls under the untrimmed pines. Fairways were of professional quality and the greens are fast enough to challenge but not so fast to break your spirits. Great golf indeed!
Ranger issue
Our group was having a nice round until the ranger started follow us around and telling us that we were playing too slow. Come to find out he just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be slow for his tee time. We saw him teeing off as we finished. We played with a steady pace and only stopped for the very friendly beverage cart lady. Nothing ruins a good round more than being rushed for no reason.
Great day of golf in Bay City
My very first impression was not that great as the man working the pro shop seemed a little unfriendly and somewhat rude but when we went out to the cart area the man working there was great. Once we got the go ahead to golf this same man came up to us asking if this was our first time and when we said yes he gave us a course layout book and some very helpful tips all the while smiling and laughing with us, this is the kind of person that will bring us back there. We also met a ranger on hole two that came up and spent a few minutes talking about the course and the next few holes and how they would be a challenge and he was dead on, thank you for the tips. The course itself was in great shape, the greens did have some kill off on them but that in no way made the day bad, the place was very fun to golf at I had a great round and will be back.

Nice course but the greens were some what ruff. the wildlife was great. Lost some balls in the water hazards. Will play the course again.
This course has everything a course can offer.
It was a very pleasing round, an play was at a good pace for play. Very enjoyable.
good value for the money
Golf now rate was $25 for 18 and a cart. Good value. Course has many good holes.
