Grand Traverse Resort & Spa
About Grand Traverse Resort & Spa
The 900-acre Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme became a Michigan landmark in the 1980s on the outskirts of Traverse City as its distinctive 17-floot glass tower was built adjacent to The Bear, a notoriously tough course by Jack Nicklaus. Guests have so many choices among 600 guest rooms and condos, five restaurants and lounges, the Gallery of Shops, four indoor-outdoor pools, an indoor water playground, a 7,000-square-foot spa, a private beach on Grand Traverse Bay, a large health club with five indoor tennis courts and two other courses, The Wolverine by Gary Player and Spruce Run by William Newcomb. The nearby Turtle Creek Hotel and Casino, accessible by a free shuttle, is also owned by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottowa and Chippewa Indians.Facts

Most beautiful course I’ve played in Michigan
OMG. First time playing THE BEAR. I WILL BE BACK.. This is my 2nd favorite course that I’ve ever played…..I had an epic time. The greens were lightning, the approach shot views were unparalleled, the staff go the extra mile, the course layout incredible. Course conditions were perfect. The Bear lives up to its reputation as a very difficult course but it is an amazing experience. Requires Very tactical approach to each hole.
Blue Angles over the bay & Fast Greens oh my!
Great course, take a few lessons on putting first!
Impressed with the value
The course is challenging for all and fair.. The traps are hard packed; green putt slow but have plenty of slope to offset the slow pace.
Longest and worst round in 50 years
Course is very nice but the management of the course is terrible it took 2 of us with cart 7hr talk to staff about pace of play and told o well we have 750 tee times today I feel all they care about is $$ so overbooked I will never go back look at price and you expect a better run course.do not go
Such a fun course to play! Greens were perfect everything was perfect! Loved every hole.
Fun day
Great golf course...the Bear. Beautiful and challenging..
Though the pace of play was very slow, we enjoyed the beauty of the course and took lots of pictures in between shots waitin.
