The north course is my preference . The wider fairways vs the south and the 6par5s,6par4s and 6 par 3s is a welcome change to the usual hole routine. the greens are large so two putting here on everyhole is a challenge in itself

Stoatin Brae is a gem. It is an incredible course *- as long as you aren’t expecting to show up and play something the likes of Erin Hills, Sand Valley or Pinehurst. I have seen many reviews on here dogging the course for being overrated when compared to these other courses. Guess what- those courses average $350-500 per round. Stoatin is a well thought out design that is an absolute value at approximately $100 per round. I have played just about every destination course East of Missouri and I would put Stoatin in my top-15. That’s saying something from a golf journeyman who’s played 200+ courses.

While in Michigan you have to play:

Bay Harbor- Links and Quarry 9s

Forest Dunes The Loop (Doak masterpiece)

Arcadia Bluffs (Bluffs course is great, South +/-)

Great place to enjoy 18 holes of golf it had rained two inches of rain before we went and was still a great time

Course was absolutely breath taking.

Best golf Ive played in michigan some incredible holes

The course is in absolute pristine condition. I’ve played the west several times and I had beat the morning foursomes on this day with a 7am start. Sunrise beautiful morning dew everywhere. They were cutting the course that day lawn mowers everywhere but that didn’t bother me one day when you se the beauty of the course. The west like it’s sister East offers a lot sand, woods, water, and traps but the fairways and greens well protected were in awesome shape. Will play again and again all of the Scott family courses are where I go to play to treat myself.

What a great layout! Everyone was friendly, almost every hole was interesting, great condition. Lots of rolling hills and nice views. I'll play here again.

There is so much fun to be had here. Sloping fairways, elevation. Fast greens and plush fairways. You will enjoy your time here. And there 5 other courses within a mile!!!!

A joy to play with 6 par fives, 6 par threes, and 6 par fours. Greens were large, undulating, medium fast, and putted true.

Water in play on four holes but no forced carries.

Of the five Gull Lake courses - all very nice - this is my favorite..
