Gull Lake View Golf Resort
About Gull Lake View Golf Resort
Since the 1960s, the Scott family has transformed 2,000 acres in southwest Michigan into one of America's largest golf resort communities. Situated in the appropriately named Augusta, Michigan, near Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Gull Lake View Golf Resort has become synonymous with affordable packages where golfers stay in comfortable villas to enjoy six different courses, all from different eras. The East and West courses were built in the mid-1960s and mid-1970s, with the two Stonehedge courses added later in 1989 and 1994. The family bought the Bedford Valley, a classic course known for hosting tournaments, in 1988 and then put the feather in the cap, debuting the linksy Stoatin Brae by Renaissance Golf Design in 2017. Those who fall in love with the experience can buy real estate in one of several neighborhoods.Facts

Where’s the ranger?
Great course, but play was PAINFULLY slow - held up by one group 3 holes ahead of us. Twice we had 3 groups waiting to tee off. One on a par 3 and one on a par 5. So where was the ranger? Saw him at tee off on hole 1 and that was it. Great course, but probably won’t be back again.
Beautiful, Challenging, Fun
The best links course I ever played. Course was in perfect condition. It took me some getting used to the style (48 on the front and 36 on the back - tale of two nines for me). I thought that the fairways were more generous than what I saw in some previous reviews. However, the greens are pretty difficult and speedy. I could not stick it close to the pin on the front, then took one club less and ran the ball towards the hole on the back. Missing in the correct location is a must. Layout was awesome, will definitely try to play here again!
Where's the ranger?
Pitiful pace of play on a perfect day for golf. There was a foursome that had the whole track backed up. Finally gave up and drove in after fifteen. The slow group was hitting their approach shot on 17 - no one on the green or 18. They were more interested in annoying everyone with the dreaded blu-tooth boombox cranked up high enough to hear three holes behind them. It was kids day without tickets and we won't be back.
Awesome course
Perfectly maintained course. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great condition. Nice mix of holes with different layouts. Need to bring your “A” game to score well. Pace of play was great on a Sunday morning and staff was very friendly. I would recommend this course for sure.
A good day for golf
Great golf course in great condition other than a few leaves and twigs left from previous nights thunderstorms.
Multiple tee boxes for all levels of play.
Played 18 in well under 4 hrs. On a Saturday.
If the course was not more than an hours drive I would return frequently.
Beautiful course
I had a great time and loved this course. It was a fun challenge.
Incredible
Very open, traditional style links layout. Incredible views looking down on the surrounding area away from the course. Very tough, yet very fair. Can’t wait to go back!
Tight and fun
Really enjoyed the course. There are spots on the course however that need repair. A couple of greens and some spotty fairways. If you can get beyond that, it is a very fun course.
Nice course, bad set up
I've played here several times and most of the time the course is set up just fine, but there are a few pin placements that are just absurd. The 17th comes to mind. When it's a front left pin placement you can't even keep your ball on the green. There should be no reason the pin is ever in that location. Other than pin placements the course is nice.
Course Conditions
This is a good, interesting layout that has a set of tees for players of all skill levels. The course's greens were not the fastest but were perfectly maintained. On several holes, the fairways had become burnt out and patchy, but if you didn't mind rolling the ball it wasn't much of a problem. The mature trees lining each hole provided a pretty frame for each hole and directed the way you were supposed to move the ball off each tee. The $65 weekend rate seemed about right, and if I lived in the area it would be my rotation of courses to play. Would play again if in the area.
Decent track.
Most fairways where in good shape. A couple had dead spots and every hole had hard rough and dead grass up and down the holes, throughout the track. Greens where in great shape. Tee areas where in great shape as well.
Pace wasn’t horrible. Could of been better.
Great Course
it's been over ten years I last played the course! It's gotten better with age! Already planning my next trip there.
