Whaling city country club
Staff rude, very unprofessional. Greens in poor condition. Golf elsewhere!
Poor customer service at Magnolia Landing
We made the turn during this 97 degree heat. We went into the snack bar area to get a drink and a quick sandwich. The bar person said that he did not think he could service us because we would lose our spot on the course. He went to check with the pro shop and they insisted that we go to the on course snack bar. We really just wanted to sit in the air conditioning and cool off. I gotta tell you that I have played hundreds of courses but NEVER have been turned away at the snack bar! I asked the pro shop person about this and he insisted that we could not have got a spot back on the golf course. We had NO ONE behind us all day! And even if we did, there was so few golfers in this heat, that there should not have been a problem continuing our round. I brought 5 other people with me. I am greatly disappointed that they would worry more about the pace of play then our health and safety!
Hawk
The grounds were in great shape! Some of the tee boxes were in horrible shape and not enough sand in the traps. Beautiful morning!
Great challanging course
Course in great shape. A challenge for a Floridian used to flat lands.
Beautiful course in a beautiful place
Hawk's Eye is a must-play when visiting Bellaire and Shanty Creek. It has its share of tough holes but nothing that would scare off golfers of any level of skill. The staff was super friendly, and it's so cool to sit out on the big deck watching golfers come up the holes in front of you.
Always love the course and staff
The layout and conditions are always too tier...the staff are great. Whenever we are in town we make sure to play the course.
Great Course and Resort
I booked a stay and play through Hawk's Eye for a group of 8. The entire process could not have been easier. Nick was great to work with from beginning to end.
We played Hawk's Eye, The Legend, and The Chief. Although our group enjoyed all 3, we agreed that Hawk's Eye was clearly the best. The layout is great and peaceful. We had rain off and on all weekend and the course was in excellent shape. If you are planning a golf trip to Bellaire, do not miss Hawk's Eye!
Great course
Always enjoy this beautiful course. Great condition.
Great course! Can’t wait to play again
What a great track. Friendly off the tee box but is very challenging. Can’t wait to play again.
Challenging but Fun
We played this course the first year it opened and the club house was a trailer. This course has matured wonderfully and we enjoy getting back to play once a year!
Hawks Eye Gem of the North
I have played several courses up North, including Tree Tops, Tulkymore, “The Legend”, i.e. and for an up north course I think for the cost and value Hawks Eye is just as beautiful and challenging as many of the aforementioned courses. I thoroughly enjoyed the course, but save your energy it’s a very long course that ends with 2 par 5’s and a par 4
Slow play
Don’t play Saturdays! 2:30 for front 9. Then 5 groups stacked at 10th tee. Tee times 7 minutes apart; too tight. No Marshall. Staff gave us a rain check when we quit at 10th. Great course. Bad timing.
Hawk's Eye was a great find.
While visiting northern Michigan, we try to play one "special" course. We have played Treetops, The Donald Ross Memorial, and The Monument. Hawk's Eye was equally fun to play as these courses. It is challenging and beautiful. We loved the changes in elevation. We will look forward to playing it again in the near future.
Great course!
This is a great golf course. Fun layout, challenging holes. The day we played it, the hole locations made it very very challenging. The course seems to have lapsed in condition. We have played it the last 5 years and this was the worst we have seen it. The greens were very nice, the tees were ok but the general condition of the fairways and rough were not up to the usual here.
It’s fun...we’re having fun.
Nice wide fairways. Greens rolled fast and true. Will be coming back!
Superb Course!
Course was in excellent condition, given all of the hot weather we've had, and the number of golfers that come through. Fairways are great, greens were great! Staff is wonderful! Always enjoy golfing here!
Just ok
Still a decent track, but many areas suffering from lack of water with some areas completely burned out brown and cracked. Also many bunkers lacking maintenance and becoming overgrown with weeds. Staff was great, course is suffering from maintenance issues.
Disappointed
Nice layout but a few bad/severe green complexes. Lots of severely burned out areas including on the greens.
