Loon Golf Resort
About Loon Golf Resort
The Loon Golf Resort has grown to include a second location in Gaylord: The Ridge, formerly the Marsh Ridge Golf Resort. The Loon offers a townhome village with four-bedroom/four-bathroom units with full kitchens just steps from the clubhouse restaurant and the course. The Ridge is more versatile with hotel-style rooms, suites and free-standing condos, all within walking distance to the Summit Grill. Lodges named Copenhagen (11 rooms, one apartment), Summit (20 rooms) and Bergen (12 rooms) all feature a large common/recreation area. The Scandinavian Cabin sleeps 12 with six bedrooms, a fireplace, full kitchen and living area. Its 6,231-yard course is short but beautiful. The 6,418-yard Lakes course sports four holes on Lake Michaywe roughly four miles from both resort properties.Facts

Generally very good
Two complaints every ball washer was bone dry. Not a single place on course with water to drink.
Video games
I play a lot of technical courses and this one was super impressive. The first few holes are cake but once you hit the back it's all a psych out. Loved it
Great par threes
I enjoyed the track. Prefered the back nine more. Front nine has alot of uphill shots. As a senior playing white tees I was not reaching the top of the hills on drives. Must get alot of play tee boxes pretty beat up. Greens were generally good but more undulating than appears. I enjoyed the par 3s. most scenic with huge carries..
Wonderful experience
Great course, friendly and professional staff.
A must play
Great layout
Course was in great shape. Greens were fast but fair. Staff is very friendly. Only negative was pace of play was slow. Usually play in 4 hours, this took 5.
Will play here again!
Loved this course!
Course was in good condition. A couple of greens need some help but all and all not bad. The course is on a mountain ridge so you are playing on hills with some blind spots. The hole designs were awesome. Lots of sand so accuracy is important. We got 9 holes in and then got rained out. Disappointed we couldn't do 18 but hope to be back someday.
Nice course
Here on vacation. Never played here before, but the course was in great shape. Staff were very friendly anf helpful. Great value for northern Michigan.
Good layout and very friendly staff. I think there’s been a draught here as the greens were incredibly firm and some of the fairways were starting to brown in spots. A good golf course and from the blues it was a challenge.
