Good deal on price but.....
Positive would-be pace of play and with a last-minute Golf Now Deal at 23 bucks. I played alone and never saw anyone in front of me. Played on a Tuesday in good weather, but had rained the night before: so, a little wet but not bad.
Negatives are the greens were in good shape; however, their Inconsistency would be my biggest playing complaint. Bunkers had decent sand but small rocks and should be groomed/raked in the morning. Fairway grass was a little patchy in a few main landing areas. Aside from that, second biggest complaint would be the course needs a lot more directional markings from green to next tee.
Bottom line and reason for the rating even at such a cheap price is it is listed as a resort course and should be groomed accordingly. Normal rates this time of the year are $35.00, not worth it to me. Having played this course now I would spend more and play somewhere else.
Cart paths
Course was in great condition. Only complaint was the shabby condition of cart paths.
Great value
I played single after work. I have played here before. Great classic layout. It needs a little tender loving care. However, the greens are outstanding, it is a fun layout and you can't beat the value
Cam was great.
For the start of the year the course was in really nice shape and Cam was extremely accommodating.
Ben
Played the classic. It had opened a few days to a week earlier so the course wasn’t in the best condition but it was worth it.
On hole 14 there were some neighborhood kids that kept disrupting everyone teeing off by being on the course. Mom sat there and watched them. Not cool.
Beautiful Course
We didn’t see a golfer for the first 5 holes. Great layout, great fairway conditions and the greens were very good and challenging. Incredible views and just a beautiful course. Only down side was that most of the bunkers needed some love, they had large rocks. Will definitely play it again.
Amazing experience!
Traveling to Michigan for a golf getaway to find this gem of a course. The views, layout, and condition of the course was amazing. What a fun experience. This course will definitely be added to the annual golf trip.
Beautiful course………….except for all the rocks
What a wonderful piece of property. Challenging holes, beautiful views, and great green, but what is with the rocks in the sand traps.
The rocks were so bad, you had to rake the trap or take your ball out altogether.
Lastly, I know it was a Saturday, but 5.5 hours for a round is not acceptable. No Marshall until the 12th and that was the only time we saw one.
Love the course but the rocks got to go!
Classic
Course is in great shape and the 19th hole is fantastic! The classic course is a nice country club layout- not too difficult but still fun to play for any skill level.
Great course harder than it looks
This is a classic country club style course. Plays much tighter than it looks. Course was in fabulous condition the day we played. Greens were fast and rolled true. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Only complaint was they did not run their beverage cart on this course it was on the other course on property all day.
Great course
One of the must plays at the mecca of Michigan golf.
Course was in great condition, staff was friendly,, and easy to get to just off the main road. Only played the classic course this trip but am willing to go back to give their other course a try.
Overall Beautiful Course, amazing elevations and views
Fairways, greens, and tee boxes were in outstanding condition. The elevations and views were amazing, will definitely come back to play during fall color season. Carts were a bit worn and struggled with the hills at times. Many (maybe most) of the bunkers had rocks in them, not pebbles or stones, but significant rocks. Given the hills and distance between greens and tee's, it's not a course you'll likely play in 4 hours as a 4some . Overall great course, worth the time and money.
