Beautiful course………….except for all the rocks
What a wonderful piece of property. Challenging holes, beautiful views, and great green, but what is with the rocks in the sand traps.
The rocks were so bad, you had to rake the trap or take your ball out altogether.
Lastly, I know it was a Saturday, but 5.5 hours for a round is not acceptable. No Marshall until the 12th and that was the only time we saw one.
Love the course but the rocks got to go!
Classic
Course is in great shape and the 19th hole is fantastic! The classic course is a nice country club layout- not too difficult but still fun to play for any skill level.
Great course harder than it looks
This is a classic country club style course. Plays much tighter than it looks. Course was in fabulous condition the day we played. Greens were fast and rolled true. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Only complaint was they did not run their beverage cart on this course it was on the other course on property all day.
Great course
One of the must plays at the mecca of Michigan golf.
Course was in great condition, staff was friendly,, and easy to get to just off the main road. Only played the classic course this trip but am willing to go back to give their other course a try.
Overall Beautiful Course, amazing elevations and views
Fairways, greens, and tee boxes were in outstanding condition. The elevations and views were amazing, will definitely come back to play during fall color season. Carts were a bit worn and struggled with the hills at times. Many (maybe most) of the bunkers had rocks in them, not pebbles or stones, but significant rocks. Given the hills and distance between greens and tee's, it's not a course you'll likely play in 4 hours as a 4some . Overall great course, worth the time and money.
Better courses in the area for the money
this course is fine, it could really use GPS, as there are several area's you don't really have enough information to make a club decision. The course is good, and the layout is pretty cool. You will need to know once you leave the club house you will not return until the round is over. there is a beverage cart after number 9, but that is it. Stock up before you leave.
Again, for the money, I would play somewhere else first.
Enjoyable
My second visit to this course was just as enjoyable.
Nice design with forgiving fairways.
Very nice
Nice to play, friendly staff.
Course was in very good shape…greens were recently top dressed.
Hidden Gem
Excellent value for the money. Nice layout and condition was near perfect. Duck blind is an amazing 19th hole!
No GPS
Great layout but no GPS with several holes that are blond or have a lay up off the tee. There are map postings on each hole but no yardage to anything other than the green. A little high price for what you get. Enjoyed the layout but not the greens, as the were very slow. All that said it was a fun day of golf
Great overall!
Great experience for 4th of July week in Northern Michigan! Played 18 in under 3 hours (teed off at 12:50 on Wednesday after the holiday). Greens were excellent, bunkers were raked, fairways were manicured. Good value as compared with other courses in the area.
Great Fathers Day Course!
Grabbed a tee-time for 18 holes at 10:20AM. Pretty accurate timing. Despite what I read here, the pace was fine. Never felt rushed or slow. Every green was in great shape. Would rather have played the Tribute, but for half the price, this was well worth it!
Good time, despite the rain and wind
Great track.... staff were super friendly and helpful. We stopped in as we arrived in town earlier than expected, and was greeted promptly and sent out to play. The forward tees were a great treat for my wife (maybe too far), but she enjoyed the ease of jumping out of a car after 6 hours, and being able to play. I will return, nice layout.
Fair to the ladies
Course is a good layout, value and yardage is fair for the ladies. Made it fun for my wife and I to play.
