Staff very courteous and friendly.
Course was in excellent shape. We were there on a Sunday morning so the clubhouse was serving a brunch buffet. We did not partake in it, but the food looked very good. The clubhouse was well stocked with apparel, was clean and the staff friendly. The bag staff and starter personnel were helpful and attentive to our needs and provided good course information. We drove an hour and a half to get to St. Ives and it was well worth the trip. Will do it again.
Nicely challenging with great views
It was challenging but not overly painful. The course was immaculate. We will be back
Great course, somewhat short. A shot makers course.
The course itself was in amazing condition.
We were following a large group of several foursomes playin a scramble that made play slow.
The staff was accommodating and friendly.
Unfortunately the range was irons only due to its small size.
The design of the course is very hilly. A lot of natural terrain was simply made part of the course, which is always the case with a Matthews design. It did seem like the crew has the course set up to be super playable rather than challenging though.
Tullymore
Very nice course and layout. Well maintained. A bit expensive.
Absolutely perfect condition, a "must play" course.
I would consider Tullymore a cross between a traditional "links" course and the best of Michigan's "up North" style courses. Every hole is challenging, generally rewarding you for good shots (with the exception of a deep pot bunker in the middle of one fairway) and gently punishing you for misses. The terrain does not have the elevation changes of some courses, but the scenery on many holes is absolutely breathtaking. Course conditions were impeccable, and all staff were very helpful and friendly.
Beautiful layout with plenty of challenges
Playing this course at regular price is to much $. Great deals on golf now make it more appealing. The course was in great shape and the staff was extremely accommodating.
Course is outstanding and tough
After driving through Amish territory and mobile homes on one acre plats I arrived at Tullymore, the other end of the economic spectrum. Wow! Course had been recently aerated and is recovering but it is an amazing track. Pace was slow but the course was full on Memorial day. I got a great price on golfnow, very happy.
This is Tullymore, it is expected to be a top course in the state and it is.
Overall this course is great, it has one of (if not the) best club houses, great practice facilites, great food/drink selection and the staff was very helpful. The course design is amazing. Challenge after challenge. Perfectly hidden bunkers and large water hazards for those risk/reward shots.. Greens were fast and sloped, even with recent aeration marks. A great overall experience.
If I wanted to nit pick, which I feel obligated to do when a course is attempting to compete for the top few slots in the state, I have a couple annoyances. When there is an elevated tee box, steps to the box would be much appreciated over walking through the tall weeds/grass. I did see a few holes had mowed paths up, but not in locations that anyone used. A couple of very large bunkers had only 1 or 2 rakes. If the course was busy this could certainly slow down pace of play. Again, I am nitpicking.
Great course! See you all again soon.
This course is growing on me
I played St. Ives several times a few years ago and thought it was okay. I am starting to appreciate it more and think I will play it more often. The condition was better than the sister course, Tullymore, which I played last week and will be playing again this weekend. It is early in the season still, but St. Ives was in better overall condition.
Great course
Very nice and beatiful course! All staff were very friendly.
After the round, I had lunch at clubhouse.
TM burger was great.
I really would like to play at this course again in the future.
My favorite golf experience in the state.
The staff at this course is very well trained. From the moment you drop off your bag you are treated with courteous respect.
Course notes are provided for each hole, and I have never experienced an issue with course maintenance. It's always in wonderful shape.
They are on time and during heavy play have strategically placed fore-caddies.
Rangers and Beverage cart drivers are alert to your play.
This is how a course should be run!
great course layout,
great course for what we paid to play, greens were just aerated and needed more attention but over all great deal
Great shape for a rough spring
Tullymore was once again in great shape considering the awful spring Michigan has had this year. The greens on 1-9 were aerated last week and they were just starting aeration on the back nine as we were finishing up. Even with the aeration, it was a great value. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I look forward to my next round there.
clean and nice course
In spite of off-season, the coursse was well maintained. However, we were very disapoopinted to experience that a group of seven people with 5 carts were playing behind us altogether. They were loud, drinking and shouting. They did not respect other players and acted like as if they own the course. And one of the guys with a beer in his cart asked me to pass our group. Of course, I said "NO". I complained at the Pro-shop associate. - Later, I learned that thoses gusys are members of the course. I was stunned as I beleive the members do harm overall reputation of the course.
Fairway and green is the best condition.
The frost made us 2 hours waiting. But there is value to wait de-frost even 2hours.Some of green still frosted that case the ball speed was to fast.Anyway some of difficulty but I understood top 100 rating.
Great Play
Course in top notch condition. A little pricey during peak season, but a great value with Golf Now.
Great Course
Ive got to golf here twice. This is my favorite course. I could not afford to golf here if it wasn't for Golf now. We would go to the course all the time if we could.
Staff, Course and Clubhouse were great!
The weather was cold and windy but the staff was warm and friendly. Course was well maintained and the speed of play was just right. The selection of clothing and golf equipment in the pro shop was outstanding and the prices were reasonable.
Great course that plays fair.
This is a great course for all levels of play. The greens are very big so knowing pin placement is important for scoring well.
It doesn't get better than this!
WOW! What a gorgeous course that was in pristine shape. It was challenging with high drops onto beautiful greens. We played this course twice using Golfnow rates which is the only way we could have played this course. Tee times were easy to book and the rate was so reasonable for a five star course. Thanks Golfnow!
