Spring Golf at the Ozarks -- MUST PLAY COURSE
I've been leading a group of HS golfers to the Lake area for 17 years. Each year we play the Oaks. Each year I come away thankful for and humbled by the experience.
For the time of year, it is always it great condition. March in the Midwest can reek havoc on superintendents and their crew. However, the staff at the Oaks always impress me.
Perry - a staple in the clubhouse - is so welcoming upon your arrival.
You need to check this course out when you are in the area. Bring your A-game or D-game. It will not matter. You will be challenged. Most of all, you will love the experience.
Looking forward to playing it again in a few months.
Nice course!
Lots of elevation changes! Considering it was November course was in great shape!
A Great Experience
Had a terrific experience playing The Oaks at Tan-Tara for the first time. The ENTIRE staff, form club pick-up to starter were absolutely the best and the course was in great shape. A somewhat challenging but not impossible course. I'll be back!
Really Nice Course
I played this course for the first time on Oct 13, 2017. on a Golf Now Hot Deal. I was really pleased with the layout of the course. There are several interesting holes which require lay ups off the tee. Also several holes with water in front of the greens thast require a precise shot to the green. I would highly recommend this course.
Great course with lots of elevation changes.
Played as a 2-some on a Tuesday afternoon. Did not encounter other players until 9th hole, so had lunch in clubhouse at the turn to create some distance on the back nine. It had rained the day before, and again on Tues morning, so play was cart path only. This required a lot of walking up and down very hilly terrain and made it a struggle at times. Course has brand new gas carts, but there was an issue with ours backfiring occasionally and needing adjustment of brake & gas peddles to alleviate jerking when stepping on the gas. Overall a very nice course and facility - will continue to play again as the opportunity arises.
Nice Course
I enjoyed it. There are some very picture worthy holes throughout the course. The green are pretty beat up from the number of rounds played on them but that is to be expected. For the money it think it was a good value. We payed more for a course a few days before that wasn't as nice or as picturesque as this one.
Somewhat tight fairways and if you get off them, bumpy, hard pan ground rockets your ball to who knows where.
Great track.
Set in beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. The course was in great shape. A lot of senic holes. Very friendly course, not to hard. The staff was very friendly. Only negative thing was the tax on the golf. In California we do not have tax on golf. If your in the area a must play.
A ten for tantara
Challenging & fun to play. Picturesque holes. Greens & fareays were in good conditionn despite heat & lack of rain. Would def play again
Gem of the Ozarks
By far the best priced course at The Ozarks. $75 on a weekend, compared to the $100+ the competition is charging, is a steal. You can play it during the week for even cheaper, like $55. The greens are absolutely phenomenal, undulated and tricky, easily some of the best at the lake. The layout is tree lined with lots of elevation changes and some spectacular views. Lots of neat water features, especially on the Par 3's. You better bring your A game though, cause this course well test all aspects from tee to green. I will definitely be back.
Thank you so much for the kind comments and for playing The Oaks. Our Grounds Team has done an amazing job keeping the course in fantastic condition despite the hot, dry conditions. We really appreciate you noticing. We'd love to you back again. E-mail spencerwilson@pga.com and mention this review, and I'll send you a special discount for your next round at The Oaks.
