Beauty and challenge but far from a great experience
One of the slowest rounds ever played (5+hrs). Starter put way too many twosomes out on the course after an event earlier in the morning.. Carts do not have GPS and hole mapping. Cart paths often were confusing and difficult to find from the fairways. Never saw a course marshall monitoring pace of play.
Generally the fairways and greens were in good condition, Back nine greens were mixture of turf and rolled slower than front nine greens. Had lots of bunker shots and found bunker conditions were inconsistent (soft sand to hard pan). Tee boxes were sometimes worn and punched. No ball washers anywhere. No permanent bathroom facilities on the course, just the occasional porta-potty. No drinking fountains or water refill stations on the course, but drinks cart came by once on each nine.
For the $99 green fee, the course beauty and challenge delivered value, but the slow pace of play really tarnished the experience.
Quick stop
Good place of play... Greens in decent shape..Fair value for dollar
An average desert course
The staff was pleasant and helpful. The carts seemed new with plenty of pep. The layout was not that challenging but the greens were smaller than usual. Fairways on some holes were patchy. 2 water holes with fluffy green side bunkers guarded #9 and #18. Despite a slow pace of play, we enjoyed our round.
Mojave Golf Course
Course was in very nice shape Fairways were green not all dried up. Greens were in great shape
Much Improved
Hadn't played at Huukan for a few years. At that time, there were lots of dead spots in the fairways due to pasr flooding. It was in poor shape. That is no longer the case. Fairways, greens, and tee boxes were in good shape.
May try to play there again in the next week or so. Congrats to the staff on making the dramatic improvement!
Enjoyable
Greens and fairways good , Dry off fairways but first time in area so I am guessing that is normal for end of winter and area . Staff friendly and helpful .
Player friendly layout and overall an enjoyable day out. Grille on site serving breakfast and lunch .
Shape
The course was in better condition then 6 months prior.
