Almost There
Love the layout of the course, it’s tough. Greens had not recovered from aeration weeks ago and holes not filled. Fairways were in decent shape for April. Expect course will be in good condition soon.
Good golf
Enjoyed a nice round of golf at LBI. Had played this course several times when it was Sea Oaks. Improvements to lockers and club house. Course was in great shape despite rain the night before and a lot off fun. Definitely need to put some thought into some of those shots. Will certainly be back.
Not bad for early spring
Course was in pretty good shape for early spring. Pro shop always very friendly and helpful. Fairways and tee boxes pretty good for early spring. Bunkers not bad. Greens just air rated with sand so not rolling well. LBI is in an interesting spot with membership. Not taking on new ones and all just annual (why they don’t have longer memberships who knows). Because you get regular hackers pace of play can be slow like yesterday. They really need rangers on the course keeping foursomes moving. It would be great if this course became truly private. It would be the only one in the area. Superior to Seaview Pines and Blue Heron. I’ll be back once everything is in full bloom.
Like LBI National
Greens not quite fully recovered from aeration but still fun
5 Stars
Great course, nice conditions, greens rolling nice, carts electric and fast
LBI National
Course was in good condition and pretty dry. The course throughout has been aerated. The greens need a little more sand to fill in holes and will take a couple weeks to heal. The course is challenging and has some really good holes. No problem with pace of play this day and they have a very good staff. Well worth if you can get a good rate.
Better maintenance
This place for whatever reason doesn't belive in sanding the green or tee boxes if your gonna airrate. Tee boxes don't mind as much but made it horrible to put on greens with million small holes. I usually enjoy this course but it was lacking in areas.
Best Yet
After some bad-to-awful experiences on other SJ courses LBI was AWESOME!! Every aspect was ‘spot on’ including the bag drop guy.. Give him a raise. Definitely recommended!
