Needs work
The layout was always great greens and some fairways need work but I always love the layout
LBI National - First Round for 2022
Glad to see LBI National opening and Renault Winery owners taking strides to update/improve the course. Recognize this will take time ….course in general rebuilding condition due to dormancy. However, tees were in decent shape, while greens were generally slow. Fairways had some tough spots but very playable for the most part. However, strong attentiveness at the Pro Shop and starter kept 4somes organized and ready for play. Looking forward to great things at LBI as course conditions improve and the restaurant / Tin Cup opens up!
Disappointed
The course wasn’t bad but there was nothing else. No food or beer. I hope they get this place back to where it should be but in the mean time play elsewhere
Great to go back.
LBI just reopened after 2 years. It was always a treat. With several GolfNow Rewards I was able to see and play it again. I needed the forward tees; I used to reach a couple of the par fives in two when it was first built. The layout is quite adventurous. Conditions were fine. Iwish LBI great success.
Beautiful course.a
Had a great time playing. Well maintained and plenty of challenges. Great day.
Needs work and time
I had played here years ago when it was Sea Oaks so I knew the course layout was nice. While I understand the new ownership wanted to open the course to make a few bucks, it's just not ready. Frankly charging $99 a round for a course that needs work is a mistake. This course used to be impeccably maintained and because it sat unused for a few years it's to be expected that it will take time to get it back into shape, but the new owners haven't even changed the signs. The fairways were decent, greens were decent, tee boxes torn up. Overall landscape was not manicured. Best way to describe it is that it needs work. We got stuck behind a group of very slow golfers on the back 9. While I have no issue with golfers who aren't very good, this group were simply slow and it was preventable. The ranger was no where to be found and my group and the group behind us were annoyed he didn't move them along or help us play through. I will give it another try but not until the course is where it needs to be.
Very good course layout
For being closed for two years I was impressed with how the course looked , great layout out and some challenging holes
Exceeded Expectations
Could not believe how great the course conditions were for this course being closed for two years. Tee boxes, fairways, rough and greens were all in great shape. Sand traps could use fresh sand which I heard was being worked on when there in June 2022. The greens were running a bit slow but they were rolling them while there so they'll be fast in no time. Throw in a lot of spring rain to make the greens wet which doesn't help. As of June 2022 there was no beverage cart or bars open. We brought our own coolers and had no problem. All in all it was a surprisingly great experience here. Highly recommend heading back and playing this course again.
Welcome Back!
The course is in decent condition and with work being done , it should be in great shape soon. Always a great layout, so glad they reopened
First round with new owners
Play was very slow because foursome in front of us was at least a hole and sometimes two holes behind the group in front of them it was over a 5 hour round
New Ownership
Same owners as Vineyard at Renault. They have already restored this course to great condition after being closed by previous owners for 2 years. Greens run true but a bit slow. Excellent driving range off grass if conditions allow. Beautiful golf course. No food or beverage service yet so BYOB. Overall very enjoyable day of golf.
