Mountain Creek Resort
About Mountain Creek Resort
Mountain Creek Resort is a four-season destination in Vernon, N.J., just an hour outside of New York City. It features a waterpark; the 27-hole Great Gorge course, which was purchased in 2018; the Treescape Aerial Adventure Park, home to zip-lining, climbing obstacles and rope walks; and a Bike Park of 52 trails that is loaded with jumps and 1,000 feet of vertical drop. The course was part of the old Playboy Club in the 1970s and 1980s, attracting famous names such as Dean Martin and Bob Hope for a game. It’s a beautiful property with wonderful mountain views and elevation changes. Guests can stay in the Appalachian hotel or enjoy more space and privacy in a one- to three-bedroom townhome rental at Black Creek Sanctuary. Both accommodations offer outdoor pool and hot tub facilities.Facts

Unorganized and overcrowded
Worst 10 holes in my life. Took me and my brother 4.5 hours to get through 10 holes because we were constantly waiting on people. We had to leave after the 10th hole because it wasn't worth staying at that point. The staff were extremely unorganized not know where to send golfers due to having 3 sperate 9 hole courses. I was supposed to be refunded, but the staff did not follow through. Its a shame how mismanaged this course was. I never write reviews, but had to express myself this time. I will never being going back.
No Rangers
Fine course but pace of play was slow. Often waiting for group in front of us to tee off as they were waiting for groups in front of them. Did not see a ranger during the entire round to move the pace along.
Love it!
Great course layout with nice fairways, greens are in good condition and are challenging. Beautiful views with interesting holes that you will remember. Definitely worth the money!
GREAT Gorge no longer
Obviously not what it used to be...but nothing is. I remember this course when it was pristine. Biggest disappointment was the tee boxes...very poorly maintained. Great layout and beautiful views.
Excellent greens
First time playing the course. I was a little nervous pulling into course because of the surroundings; but I was very pleasantly surprised after teeing off. I played lakes and quarry. All the greens are healthy and fast. Fairways are lush and a very nice layout. I would return
tee times need to be spaced out more.....and although i understand its to preserve the course but cart path only on some holes when the course is extremely dry makes no sense.....It just makes the wait longer
Great scenery
Not only is the course fun to play and well maintained, the views are amazing. The cats are clean. The greens are fast, fairways well kept. Even the concessions are fast and priced well.
Fun course good challenge can’t wait to play again
Seen better days.
I've played this coarse several times over the years, but its current condition is mediocre at best. The cart paths are in horrible shape as it was a roller coaster ride throughout. The carts themselves are really old and dated. The rough was uneven and slightly overgrown which made finding balls a challenge all day. Being within a crumbling and deteriorated abandoned hotel complex make's the visual unappealing. For a $60 round in a pinch, I'd begrudgingly consider it one more time but for $97 I won't return.
Although there are marks of aeration, it was good compared to the price I bought at Golf Now.
