Great Gorge Golf Club - Lake/Quarry Course

About
Great Gorge Golf Club is situated on 500 acres of naturally preserved land, nestled in the Vernon Valley between the Wawayanda and Pochuck Mountain Peaks. Designed by George Fazio in 1970 on behalf of Hugh Hefner for his Great Gorge Playboy Club, the course boasts 3 championship nines: Rail, Lake and Quarry. With four tee box options, the course is manageable for newer golfers yet challenging for lower handicap players, making Great Gorge an ideal venue for all golfers.

Great Gorge = great golf
Course was in very good condition and pace was on par. Love Quarry and Rail.
Great course understand the value increase
It is always a great course that usually has plenty of tee times and have made tremendous improvements so I understand the raise in rate but 90 is a bit steep right now, 80 on the weekend is about right
Great Course
Overall a great place to play. A little pricey but worth it.
Nice course, good value
Greens were awesome for early in the year. Course in good shape overall, enjoyable round, will definitely play again.
Track is awesome
Have always loved this course and to see the care of the course meeting the quality of the layout is great. well done

I have played this course for on and off for over 40 years. It was great to see the condition back to championship form. Obviously still have to work on some of the cart paths but good to see money is going back into the course and the layout is just fantastic.
Also loved the new pub
Wet fairway
Even though I took a golf cart. I couldn’t go into fairway with golf cart. Some hilly holes made me so tired too walking through each course. Except that it was good to play chilly windy day. All holes were almost empty and enjoyable moment to play a game.
Not playing here agian for a while
The course was really wet. Seems they have drainage issues. Greens were still recovering from aeration.
Nice Track but Slow Pace
I’ve played Great Gorge a few times last year and with the exception of a few holes (#2 and #3 on Quarry) it’s well laid out and can be a fun/challenging round. The pace of play was great on our first 9 (1 hour 40) but the back ground to a halt - 2 and 3 groups backed up on tees. 3 hours and 40 minutes later we completed the back. Inexcusable amount of time without a ranger in sight. Perhaps just early season growing pains but definitely took above average overall to good.
