Nice Layout but
The good, staff was very attentive at bag drop, pro shop and cart girl. The course has great potential if it was in better shape. The bad was expecting better course conditions for the price. The other thing lacking was a course ranger our round took close to 5 hours. I played the following day at a town course for 1/2 the price in better shape. The course would be worth the price if in better shape.
Mid Spring
Tee boxes, some good and some not so good.
Fairways spotty as were some green surrounds.
Greens in good shape.
Book on GolfNow ,otherwise not worth the greens fee.
Vineyard Golf
Staff was very attentive and helpful . Course still has some work to do on a few holes but overall good shape and fun layout. Very pleased with course conditions.
I will be back
Very good day. Course has recovered nicely from last summer’s drought. Staff very friendly. I hope it stays cheap enough for me to return before November.
Excellent Course when pricing is right
This is one of the best public courses in the Atlantic county/southern Ocean county area. Before the summer season starts, tee times can be very reasonable in the early afternoon, but when they jump up to $80+ for twilight tee times it can be hard to stomach! Beautiful course, extremely well maintained for the area.
Great course
I haven’t played this course in a while and glad I came back. Apart from the 2 days of straight rain this past weekend causing some sand traps to turn into water hazards, the course is in good shape. Staff are friendly and helpful. Pace of play on a windy Monday was good as expected, not sure how it is on a good weather weekend.
Some great elevated tee boxes on this course. Fairways are overall open. Good mix of challenging and easier holes. Will be back for sure!
Need rain or irrigation
Always enjoy the course at Vineyard National it is a great layout and greens had been aerated and sanded so a little bumpy and slow. LAck of rain has already done a number on the fairways and they need some tlc. For April the lack of grass on fairways is not acceptable.
All other things were fine, service was good as was pace of play. Will return if the grass isn't all gone by summer.
Vineyard
Nice layout. Be patient the growing season should make the conditions much better.
the worst conditions I ever played for 37.50
The pictures on their web site must be of someplace else... I've played golf all over the country. I am really not that picky...but... this course HAS NO GRASS! The entire front 9 has some grass on the fareways-- there is no second cut--it goes straight to rocky dirt or clumps of weeds-- even the fairways have bare spots and clumps of weeds instead of grass. The course is not a mom and pop operation--it's a resort with a golf course with a starter, a ranger, a beverage cart---but no grass-- also--if you walk about a 1/4 mile,, they have a place to get a 7 dollar beer---BUT-- they have no grass.. THE BACK 9 IS IN BETTER SHAPE--but--there is not one --not one--zero-- greens with any grass what so ever.. the greens are well designed,, especially if they ever get grass... do not think it's because it's mid april.. nearly all other golf courses in the area are in great shape for the same price-or-less
Great course
First of all you have a great course with excellent conditions. Plus don’t forget about nice hotel, food plus extra family things like ice skating ect.
The course is in decent shape but could certainly improve. Some of the greens need help. It certainly has some challenges.
The grass isn’t always greener
I don’t know if they have just given up but there is no grass on this course. The fairways are just dirt and the greens are some sort of brown crunchy crust. Will try again in 4-7 years if the reviews warrant it.
