Fairways and greens in good shape
Fairways and greens were in good shape but tee boxes were not. Have to go to other property down road to get food.
Value
Not worth the greens fee..my local muni is in as good a shape..disappointing as I had heard the new ownership was upgrading the condition of the course..always enjoyed the layout but not worth the money now..
Excellent golf course
This golf course was everything I needed for a Sunday afternoon round of golf!
The Ranger is an a…….
This was the second day at Vineyard this week. The course was awesome, the pro shop personnel, especially Matt was friendly and helped us out.
We were a twosome and we were making great progress as expected for a 7:30am round. The threesome in front of us were super slow so we flagged down the ranger. Same guy from our July 4th round.
Proceeds to tell me how the slow threesome is on schedule. Also said they were a foursome to prove his point. Was negated immediately to which he had jo answer. We played through them.
One hole later our hero turns up again, just to tell us how on schedule the threesome are. We told him no, we played through them. Dude goes, ohhhh, ok and leaves.
Then we played through another group of four who let us through. Now we are basically the quickest on the course.
Our hero then turns up and proceeds to follow us throughout a hole, the usual ranger crawl you get when you are 12 shots in and lining up your fifth putt on the ground. Yea, totally unnecessary.
I am seriously left to wonder if the color of our skin had anything to do with his blatantly biased behavior. Unless of course the threesome were his brothers and kids.
Brutal pace of play
Course in good condition but far too much waiting to play shots. A ranger was driving around but seemed to say nothing to the group in front of us who just seemed oblivious to their pace.
Excellent Course, Fun Layout
We had a group of 8 playing a family scramble and everything was perfect from the time we got there. The staff was excellent from the starter, pro shop, drinks cart etc. The ranger was not so friendly. I get it, rangers get the rough end of the stick. The first time we were warned it was fair, we were 10 mins late. However he proceeded to warn us a second time and then kept following us. We had two new players (thus the scramble) and it was a lot of pressure. Pressure on new players is counter intuitive as people get frazzled when a ranger watches you. So you are better off warning snd leaving them alone.
That said everything else was perfect. One improvement would be to have better course signage specially close to the vineyard.
In conclusion thought would I play here again, absolutely. Lovely layout, challenging yet not too crazy. Conditions were excellent, except for two of the mega bunkers.
The amenities post game are top notch. Great wine, awesome food etc. Also the lack of a driving range is a bit of a hassle. Few hitting nets should solve that problem.
Big Al
Course was over priced for the condition it was in. To bad a lot of potential and very short sighted on the owners part to not reinvest and put some money back into the golf. We would make it a destination spot and stay overnight. We spent a lot of money afterwards on food and drinks.. I got a good time the day before so I’m obviously not the only one who thinks this.. Good luck
Great course
Top notch course hidden in the woods in south jersey, highly recommended to anyone who enjoys playing on nice luscious grass and quick greens!
Beautiful course
Cannot believe what the new owners have done to the place. The winery is incredible now. Full big bar, great outside setup with fire pits, stage for entertainment, food, full schedule of events plus they are fixing up the golf course little by little. Big wide fairways, greens and fairways in good shape. Need more work on the sand traps and tee boxes. Great layout. One of the best courses down by AC. Would highly recommend here for golf or just a great day or evening out!
Good course, just not for that price tag
Beautiful course, kept in great condition, but I just didn’t find it $125 worthy. Definitely recommend it, but just not at the price I paid.
Nice Course. Great Amenities
This was my first time playing the course. I would give it 4.5 stars for the overall rating if that was an option. I reserve 5 star ratings for only the best of the best that I’ve played. The staff at Vineyards is phenomenal. From the time we pulled up to Sinatra blasting at the bag drop to Jack meeting us with a big smile and welcome to Jerry in the pro shop and Walt the starter. This is a professionally run operation. Walt made our day by addressing the group that teed off immediately in front of us at 7:00 am. 2 of the four had never played golf before. After 15 mins on the first hole and nowhere near the green, Walt called the ranger, who had the group step aside and allowed us to play through. This turned a long round into 3:45.
A great pace of play. The course is mostly in excellent shape from tee to green with the exception of the rough which I understand will be addressed in the fall. The bunkers were just redone and they were excellent. Fairways and tees were lush and greens were spotless and rolled true. The course is very golfer friendly with wide fairways and a nice variety of holes from short to long par threes and elevation changes that make for some thought behind club selection. As the name implies, this course plays through and around a vineyard. There is a large wedding facility across the street that looks pretty nice. The old winery facility has been turned into a nice bar with good food selections and beautiful outdoor dining. There is also ample entertainment options and special events. The winery is from 1864 so it was a speak easy during prohibition with a long hallway called prohibition alley. All in all a very cool golf and after golf experience. I highly recommend it.
Improved resort golf course
Tee boxes are average. Fairways, bunkers, greens are all better than last visit a few years ago. Only one or two water jugs on course. Only one ball washer. Beverage cart was available. Foursome played in 4:10 hrs. We enjoyed the course.
