perfect day for golf
first time playing here, layout good, pace slow, view great, only thing missing was distance markers! not to hard to put post on sides ?
Course was cart path only the day we played - somewhat a bummer since it was our first time on course. The greens were a bit slow - but overall the course was in good shape. Would go back again.
Great Course Nice Experience
I’ve player here several times. Last year and this year. I’ve always had a pleasant experience there. The starter is a Great guy. The course is absolutely awesome. Some of the cart paths go through a little bit of the grapevines. You might
Even get a grape or two. The last time we were there , there was I think a wedding or some sort of party so we didn’t stay for dinner. But we heard they were also having fireworks at night. Course conditions are very good including the forward tee boxes. Fairways always good. I definitely recommend. You won’t regret it
Decent Course
This was the 4th course I played during a week long vacation in the area. Despite the 3-star rating, this was the best course I played on the week, sadly. The conditions were the best of the week, but were still decidedly average. The course drains very poorly, so if there's been any rain lately, expect cart path only, and wear waterproof shoes. The layout is decent. Playing over and through vineyards is fun. Not much else to say about this course. Just fully average.
Triple bogey golfer
The course was very nice. The fairways were a bit burned out and the greens were fine for recent aeration.
Course conditions
The course itself is beautiful but bunkers need work as do some of the fairways .The greens have been recently aerated so they were bumpy . It is a work in progress and they are doing a nice job .
Needs work
Very disappointed. Limited care throughout. Greens were good but rest of course was pretty bad.
Going down hill fast
this course is sadly moving downhill fast not worth more than $49 . Bunkers have no sand (ironic minutes from beach) many have grass and weeds. We knew greens were aerified that week they were as expected the rest of course will soon be awful condition at this pace.
Could be so much better!
Course not in good shape. Traps are just deplorable. Grass growing in them and mud on the bottom. Need MAJOR work. Fairways are very spotty with lots of crabgrass, Greens were very bumpy. Probably hadn't been rolled or cut. Balls did not roll true on greens. Overall condition of course was pretty poor.
Layout is fine but conditions need major work.
Beyond slow play
No ranger to enforce decent pace of play Foursome was trying to teach a beginner
Crazy 8
I took advantage of the substantial discount during aeration to play here for the first time. The greens were actually OK although you could not count on a clean roll but better than most undergoing aeration.
The layout is outstanding and very playable, except for hole #8, a short par four. #17 is the other short par-4 on the course and a much cleaner design. But #8 has split fairway, both narrow, and a huge deep waste area right down the middle with steep sides from the tee box all the way to the green. This kind of tricked-up design make the hole practically unplayable unless you can hit the ball 300 yds to fly to the green. Not me. Next time, I won't try driver and it messed up my swing so much for the next hole since I had the image in my mind of not having anywhere to hit it. So I'll just punch an iron either left or right depending on the pin and take two shots.
The course is quite long, 6300 yards from the whites, and since it was soft there wasn't a lot of rollout. So while it's forgiving you have to keep it straight (which I did most of the round) because once you're in the rough you may not find your ball. And other comments about the rough are accurate. It's not pretty with lots of crab grass.
I will definitely play it again and I'll do it when it's in better condition. But it will always be worth it with a discount.
Vineyards in August
Overall - the round was enjoyable. The fairways had just been aerated so they were a bit bumpy. It had also recently rained so everything was fairly mushy. Had fun regardless.
