Reviews
course needs TLC
Vineyard is a nice layout and has some excellent holes. What it needs is some serious TLC as the conditions are not what you'd be looking for when paying full price. The traps are a disaster and full of big rocks. , The greens while looking nice roll very inconsistently with some being decent speed and some extremely slow. Even with a wet and cold spring, the fairways are brown in many areas looking like late August in a heat wave.. The staff is pleasant and nice and I sure hope that the new ownership has some dollars to pump into the course to bring it to the level worthy of a premium facility at a top price.
Beautiful
This is off the beaten path but worth the drive. The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. It isn’t a challenging course but great for a day of golf with my sister and two nephews
Overall Opinion
Upon arrival, entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. Couldn't have been nicer.
Starter allowed my partnerand I to go off as a twosome despite foursomes scheduled to go out all day.. The other twosome was not there for our tee time so he let us go off. It was very nice gesture. We are fairly quick players and 2 different foursomes allowed us to pass. We had to wait after catching a 3rd foursome but it wasn't long at all. We finished in 3 1/2 hrs. However, if we weren't able to pass through I would guess it would have been a 5 HR round.
My biggest surprise or shock were he course conditions. I have played here a dozen or so times and theybwere the worst conditions I have ever seen, off season or not. I expected the course to be plush after the 2 month layoff due to Covid, but it was the complete opposite.
What was even more upsetting was the $89 greens fee for how it looked.
Hopefully they turn the course around again to the way it used to be.
Always a Pleasure
Tough times during the Covid limits, but the staff here continues to be great. Even had a cart girl out! Course in nice shape.
Pleasantly Surprised!
Course played nicely. Conditions good, especially in view of restrictions as result of COVID restrictions. Seems new owners are committed to make this a premier location/destination. Hopefully next time we play weather will be nicer. Would definitely play this course again. A sweet spot to enjoy a day of golf. Looks like it could be a gem location for golf and or events!
Not worth the drive
My friend and I drove an hour b/c I heard this course was in great condition but it was only fair esp since it has not had play for over a month. It is a ok course but not for $55 and if I had not gotten it free b/c of my golfpass I would have been even move disappointed.
Golf in Jersey.
Nice course. Some water. Some woods. Very wide open. Greens were definitely a plus. I’d like to remind other players to please be quite when someone is addressing the ball. Last two rounds I’ve booked on line, my pair has been paired with another pair that had a problem being quite. I figured if your using the site, you should have that figured out by now. Just needed to get that out.
Course in excellent shape for feb treat playing . A real challenging course
Fine Layout
Great course & staff. Condition good for this time of year.
Overrated
The course is very physically taxing when cart path only ( no need to be since course was not wet), Greens are slow and like putting on steel wool pads. Not a good place for senior golfers..
BRISK!
Course condition is outstanding & staff(1 - LOL!) great! If it ain't raining.....you gotta play Renault @ these rates.
wide open
The Vineyard National course was in great shape for early December. The greens are large and well maintained. The course is very scenic, abound with wildlife. You will find this course a good challenge. Some of the bunkers were flooded, It rained the last 2 days. If your in the Atlantic County area a definite must play for the money!!!
Great layout. Fun course
Have always enjoyed this layout. Conditions were pretty good. Bunkers need significant maintenance. Quick round. Nice people.
Veterans Day
Beautiful day, beautiful course!!!! Pace of play was a bit slow but it was so nice out that I can’t blame people for coming out to play. Got my first eagle on a par 4 and was beaming the rest of the day!!! Make sure to read the greens well, breaks are subtle but harsh. Can’t wait to come back next season.
