Seaview, A Dolce Hotel
About Seaview, A Dolce Hotel
Seaview, A Dolce Hotel, was founded in 1914 as an exclusive country club. It has a long history of hosting professional golfers, presidents, rock stars and celebrities. In 1942, Sam Snead won the PGA Championship on a combination of holes of what is now Seaview's Pines and Bay courses. The Bay course, a regular host of the LPGA Tour, delivers the views beyond Reeds Bay to the Atlantic City Skyline. The hotel includes 34,500 square feet of meeting and event space, indoor and outdoor pools, three restaurants and a fitness center. The historic charm of the interior feels like a trip back in time.Facts

An osprey on the course Photo submitted by Joefie on 02/15/2013
Always clean and fun, but this time, the pace was brutal.
This course is always in tip-top shape, clean, green and easy to find your ball. The staff is friendly, check in is easy and there’s plenty of parking. Snacks and drinks are available on the course.
The fairways are a mix of wide and narrow. The greens were fast and showed signs of previous aeration. Sand traps were bright white and clean. Plenty of rakes provided for each trap.
Usually I average between 3.5-4 hours for a round of 18. This time, it was about 5 hours to complete, and unfortunately, no rangers in sight to move play along.
The second group in front of us were painfully slow. It was compounded by the group in front of us, who, on several par 5s, would not hit their second shot until the group ahead of them were off the greens. They could barely hit 200 out of the box, yet they thought they could hit the green in 2 on a par 5. This is where the ranger is needed to inform them that they need to keep up the pace, too.
A Good Value Under $75
This track is next to the bay and be prepared for cooler temps and windier conditions than you expect. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were recently aerated. The greens were very fast. The major negative was the pace of play and the tee boxes were in horrible shape, especially for this early in the season. I think it would be really appreciated by all golfers if tracks would notify you at the time of reservation that aeration has taken place or reduce the green fees.
Slow play but good course.
Good layout with awesome history( read the plaques).
Fairways in great shape.
Greens still recouping from Aeration.
Back tee boxes are in great shape. Whites on many holes are in rough shape.
Need a lesson? Stop by here and book with Jeff. You can’t go wrong. Good teacher, better guy.
Greens were aerated and have not recovered.
I called before booking to ask about conditions and was told by a female who answered that the course was good and greens were aerated the end of March. The greens were horrible. They have not recovered due to cool weather and made for an less than desirable round.

My husband and i absolutely love playing this course. The greens are well-mannered. The staff were very polite. We try and play here at least twice a month.
Enjoyable layout Spring conditions
Have played here maybe 20 times in last 5years. Greens are not grown back in from aeration so pretty bumpy and uneven. Same with rough around the greens. Some of the tee boxes were particularly damaged looking lots of tricky lies and jumpy putts but that’s springtime golf in New Jersey
Conditions
Definitely still in winter conditions. Looks like they have some good tee boxes ready for the real season.
Where’s the Ranger?
Good Course.. 5 1/2 hour round is a bit crazy. Waited on every shot.
Course was in fair shape due to aeration. There wasn’t a ranger to be seen and the two groups ahead of us were clearly playing the wrong tees.
Fairways were in great shape. Tee boxes need some love.I would shut them down in sections to give grass a chance to grow.
