Seaview - The Pines Course

About
The lesser known of the two 18-hole courses at the Seaview is the Pines Course. It originally started as a nine-hole course but another nine-hole course was added later and the two courses were eventually combined to form the Pines Course. The course has a par of 71 and it is 6,731 yards from the back tees.
Seaview's Pine Course doesn't provide scenic views but it does offer a good game. Some even prefer the Pines course because of its quiet location behind the resort's hotel and also because of its more challenging features. The golf course has tight fairways lined with trees, medium-sized greens that are undulating, and strategically placed bunkers.

Enjoyable with major hitch
I really liked the course. Lots of doglegs and well protected greens. General course conditions were good but the greens were not. Probably half the greens had some patches of bumpy area. Unfortunately Some of the pin placements were on a bad area making putts under 15 feet impossible to hit on line. I’d definitely give it another chance or two but one thing you must have are true rolling greens or you’re effed.
Pace of Play
5 hour and 15 minute round and no Marshall. The course did nothing about pace of play.
Seaview Pines
Had a Nice day at the seaview Pines. --I love the Layout of the course which I have played numerous times. I Just wish that the course was Maintained a Little better. With a Little TLC. This good be one of the best courses in south Jersey !!!---Staff was Great. Friendly Rangers as well ---
play the Bay and pay the extra
We'd always played the better known Bay Course before and loved it. When a low rate came available for the Pines, I decided to give it a try. The LPGA event was going on at the Bay Course and I'm sure it was in great condition. We were told on the tee at the Pines course that the condition of the greens on the front nine were not as good as normal and would be a little better on the back nine. He had severely under reported it. We've played 40 rounds this year all over the region and these greens were by far the worst. Nothing rolled smoothly and there were bald spots in many of the greens. The fairways and rough had many bad patches also. While the layout of the course is pretty nice, there is no doubt that maintenance on this course has been not kept up. It was a 75 degree fall day with glorious sun and little wind so it was hard to get too worked up. I would advise anyone coming to Seaview to pay the extra and play the Bay course. I know we sure will.
Greens were terrible. Parking pain.
We were told after we booked that range and practice green weee closed because of
LPGA. We’re told greens little brown around edges. Greens were raw all
Over including front and back nine. Not every green but I would say 40%. Had I paid retail for this I would have requested a credit.
Seaview
Talk about a shocker, totally forgot what week it was when the tee time was booked. Pull up and bang, the LPGA is in town for the Shoprite Classic, Oh Boy. Pretty cool seeing the Super Star Ladies on the practice green and being carted around, saw too many to mention but cool seeing Lexi close enough to touch, speaking figuratively. Didn’t know what to expect for playing the Pines course, expecting to be overcrowded but surprisingly not.
Pace was normal, 4 hours tops. Course was in good shape overall for it being September, fairways had some wear and tear, to be expected, rough was a bit brutal, lost several balls there, greens was a bit spongy and could have stood a good rolling, but still made some long puts and still enjoyed playing the course.
Great course if you get a deal
This was my first time playing the Pines course and I was able to see some LPGA players practicing on the practice green since they are hosting a tournament this week.. Now to the course, I am a 19 handicap so I shoot in the low to high 90s and when the Gods are with me, I can shoot in the high 80s. So the course layout presented some difficulties for my errant drives hehe (narrow fairways, lots of trees,). The layout of the course is pretty, and it was in ok shape. I say ok, meaning, not great, some tee boxes needed care, but I did not mind that as mush as I wished the greens were faster. They were like a shaggy rug, my put stopped on a downhill slope lol. The green side bunkers were in good shape and trust me, I visited most of them as I barely hit any greens. The staff was very nice and polite, so no complains there. For the price I paid ($46 per player with cart) was a good price, but I would not pay more than $50 to play under the shape it was. I will love to come back and play the other course and I can certainly play the Pines if I get the same deal. In all I had a good time.
POOR CONDITION!
I SEE WHY THE COST WAS CHEAP. NO UPKEEP ON THE COURSE. COUNTY COURSE SEEMED TO BE BETTER AT THE SAME PRICE!
Pricing???????
Was very disappointed. Booked on golfnow paid $91 we were paired with two gentlemen from out of state. Got to talking come to find out they only paid $69. Apparently they had reduced the price due to course conditions. We weren’t offered any kind of discount or credit. Very disappointing.
Greens very poor
Greens the worse I have seen fir this course
Tee boxes some ni grass at all
Pace of play we could not finish
Outing with 8 people on some holes
Lots of drink
Guys blaring music driving carts on greens!!
Not a ranger anywhere!!
Fir the price of this course very bad conditions
Wonderful except the greens
Played with a friend and really enjoyed ourselves. Everything was first rate, except the greens. Many iirt patches, bumpy, etc. Cost us some strokes, literally. Very disappointing, but otherwise terrific. Play the Bay course, it is in terrific shape as the prepare for the LPGA next month. We played both yesterday, and I will look to do that again next year.
Great course
This course is top notch. Ive played several courses in the area this year and this has been the best. The conditions were Very good especially considering most courses have been decent at best. The rate of play was about 20 or so minutes faster than normal. I highly recommend this course.
