Fun Course

First time to play at this course. Was a great experience. Mind you, I am a beginner golfer and am not very picky or competitive. I play golf for the love of the game and the beautiful scenery on the golf course. This course worked in your favor if you hit the ball straight. Any deviation and you were a goner (unless your ball bounced off the trees). The most confusing hole was #5 which had a blind green. One of our players actually landed on the green but unfortunately the group in front of us were still there so they weren't very happy with us. All in all, it's a beautiful course, with some challenging shots. It was in beautiful shape and you just can't beat the scenery & surroundings. Pro shop was super nice and explained how to play 18 with just nine holes.

Great course!

This is beautiful course with lots of elevation. The fairways and greens were in great shape. It is always cart path only, so be prepared. The staff were very friendly. We will definitely play here again.

Scenic course

I have wanted to play the Cloudcroft golf course for a long time, but it was never convenient. I was glad I got to play yesterday.

The course is only nine holes, but they have two sets of tees and two flags on each green (except for number 1 where they have two greens) and two sets of tees to make it different if you play around twice. Most of the greens are very small so the two different flags are rarely more than 15-20 feet apart, so it’s a bit of a waste to me.

Every hole is different and interesting. The greens have a lot of slope and some holes have a lot of elevation change. 1 is significantly downhill, 9 is significantly up hill and 5 is a blind tee shot over a hill. Be sure to check on 5 and make sure people are gone, and that you choose a line. The ball can roll all the way down the hill into the front bunker, or onto the green.

Overall, I think it is fun and scenic, if you’re in the area it’s worth playing. Do what we did, play nine fairly early, the. Go get in line at Mad Jack’s for BBQ. You wont be disappointed in either.

Play Cloudcroft

One hour drive from Ruidoso and worth every penny. Course conditions should be greatly improved with rain June 28 and 29.

Great fun, breathtaking views

A great experience. Though it's only 9 holes, you play the 9s from different tees to different holes. two flags on the green, and one hole has 2 greens. Beautiful drive there as well. We couldn't try the Lodge itself as we had dogs with us (who were welcome to ride with us and the pro shop had milkbones).

Fun course

The Lodge is a nine hole course with two flag placements so you can play twice. It’s a fun course especially holes one, which is an elevated shot and five which is a blind shot over a hill. The pace is layback and all he golfers are super friendly. The greens and fairways are decent. The staff is extremely friendly and go out of their way to make your round enjoyable. We come down from Ruidoso and the hour drive is worth it. The Lodge beats the Links at Sierra Blanca in value for your money, the course ( think forest vs. barren landscape), ease of play and getting on, and the staff which is so friendly and accommodating. The cost is a little more than half of what you pay at the Link. FYI. If you spend your summers in Ruidoso, you no longer get resident status at the Link, nor do you get senior status or twilight price breaks. Make the drive. It’s worth it.

NM Must Play

The oldest course in NM and picturesque mountains. They offer two different tees and flags so course feels like 18. Greens are rough but for a mountains course in May it was fine.

Great location

This course has an amazing setting carved out on the small mountain town. It's a fun course to play but the conditions were not that great this time and the greens were in rough shape

Super cool

It was great course to work on your short game and putting. I would definitely play it again. The elk had the course a little chewed up but still a blast!!
