Nice layout
The course was in good condition. Improved from the last time we played 2 years ago. Enjoyed the round and looking to go back.
Great Experience
My son and I had a chance to play Top Of The World this week and had a great experience.. absolutely gorgeous views and the course was in very good shape.. greens are full but lots of elevation changes make putting pretty hard.. will go back !
I was treated horribly
Arranged to meet friends from various States to play golf in Lake George area. Had a 1:00 tee time. When we reached the 10th tee there were about 40 guys lined up for league play. We were never advised of this. Upon questioning those running the facility we were told that we could play the front nine again. Not want we had wanted to do. When I asked if we could get a refund we were offered $15 back on a $70 round. Disrespected and trivialized by those who run this place. Played Queensbury Country Club the next day. It was a much better experience. Avoid Top of The World. Poor customer service, poorly maintained track and amenities.
Take lots of balls!
Greens are plush and beautiful. Fairways are OK and the rough is too thick. Lost numerous balls in the fairway and rough. Signage is very poor and the map on the card is useless. No comfort stations anyway so drink lightly. The cart paths are gravel and uneven, beware. The setting is magnificent with a beautiful view of Lake george from the 10th tee. I’m glad we chose to play here on our visit but there maybe other courses that are kore suitable.
Tee boxes
Most of the tee boxes were overgrown and clumpy.. Other than that the coures is a lot of fun.
Best about this place was the view
Nice view, staff was not overly friendly, course wasn’t well kept. The greens were in good shape. The fairways were mostly crab grass. Golf carts were old dirty and had bird poop all over them. Torn seats etc. They gave up in this place along time ago!
Just came by to play golf, staying elsewhere in Lake George. Workers were very friendly but this was probably the most strangely designed course I’ve played in my life. Greens were in decent shape and the fairways and tee boxes were fine, just cut a bit too high. With that said, several holes on the course presented layouts that were pretty outrageous and fairways that never lended a flat lie. The 14th is a par 5 with a dogleg of about 100 degrees, 80 feet downhill with several big trees blocking an approach. Many of the greens were severely sloped and the 17th was by far the smallest I’ve seen in my life. Decent value for the price but if you’re looking for a more pleasant and standard round, this is certainly not the place.
Great place to play golf
My wife's family has a reunion at Lake George every year. We have been going up there for many years and this year decided to go golf since my nephews are now older and like to play. We played a scramble, old guys vs young guys. I'm happy to say the old guys prevailed. It started to get really hot on back nine but in all we definitely would play this course again. One hole was weird (14) but rest were fun. We played the blue tees since my brother-in-law is a very good golfer. Luckily he was on my team (old guys) so that was main reason why we won. BUT, I did contribute to many holes which made me happy. In all, we will definitely play there next year! It's worth playing.
