Slow play spoils a good round
It wasn’t that crowded yet somehow we were waiting on the tees and in the fairway.
KS Duffer in NC
Nice experience overall. Played with 3 who played course several times past week which was helpful. Very bbusy course this day. Some backups, 5 hrs for round starting around 11am. Course condition overall superb. Fluffiest sand in bunkers I have ever played. Glad I booked it,
Very good golf course. One of the starters could of been friendly but thats par for starters. Course warning very good condition.
Always a favorite
Played Magnolia/Dogwood. Course was in good shape; consistently good experience from play over the past three years. Pace of play was a bit slow, often three groups on many of the holes. Will play again.
Fantastic course
Beautiful course. Well maintained. Friendly staff.
What more could you ask for…
Love this course
I love playing this course. Never has been in bad shape. Greens were slow. If I lived here, I would play more often!
A hot, slow day of golf
This course looks very playable, but it isn't. I lost a LOT of balls. The rough was thick. It was difficult to spot or hit the ball. The course had been thatched recently. For this reason, the balls moved slowly. There were plenty of opportunities to hit the ball into the water.
Moreover, play on the back nine was so slow that it took us 4 1/2 hours even though we'd finished the first 9 in 1 1/2 hours. In fact, it would have taken longer, but all three of us skipped the 18th hole.
I did appreciate the strategic location and good condition of the restrooms as well as the provision of water on the course.
I also appreciated the starter's introducing me to my playing partners, who were members.
Aeration Not Posted on Website
They gave us half price without us asking, but we would have played somewhere else if we knew. I did not see any notification of the aeration on the website. The staff was friendly, the clubhouse and bar were very good. The layout was fairly interesting. The fairways could have been more consistent and were fairly wet. I didn’t see it rain for several days, but we did have a tropical storm the previous week. I don’t know if this is typical for the area, but it did seem overly wet a week after the storm. The greens were unplayable, Not just the punch holes, but loaded with sand. We had to just make everything that landed on the green a town putt. It might be ok under better conditions, but I’m a little skeptical and don’t think I’d want to play it again.
Enjoyed
A good day at a good course.
Staff is friendly and course is in great condition.
A good value.
