Great course, penal rough!
Maggie Valley is fun and challenging. Greens and fairways in great shape, but rough was overly penal with balls unable to achieve even moderate rollout.
Play was slow due to cartpath only rule, even though 90% of course had dried from recent rain. 90-degree rule with maybe one cartpath only hole would have sufficiently protected the course and sped up play considerably.
That said, I will certainly return for more of this enjoyable track.
Fun course
Like playing two different courses……front 9 is flat but back9 is hilly and mountainous.
Nice course
Course was very well kept and interesting. Front 9 is fairly flat but back 9 is quite hilly. Greens were mixed bent and poa which made them very hard to read breaks. Will play this course again.
Great experience!
Fun course in great shape. Greens smooth and rolled great. Elevation changes were fun.
Very enjoyable course
Typical mountain course where front 9 is in the valley and back nine go up into the mountains. Challenging and beautiful. Definitely recommend
Tale of Two Courses
Split personality golf course. Front nine is in the valley and flat as can be. Back nine is true mountain golf with significant elevation changes.
Very good for all levels.
Great course and fun mountain golf
I love this course, and I'm tardy in writing a review. I've played it dozens of times and it is a gem. The front 9 are relatively flat and the back 9 are hilly, so you get the best of both worlds. The course was in great shape. The only ding I'd give isn't for the pace of play, which was slow (but heck, it is summer, a lot of visitors, and the weather is great) - the ding is on sharing carts with strangers. I'm not a fan of this and this policy, if you can call it that, is either new or they are finally enforcing it. I've never had an issue with this before and there were dozens of empty carts. Not a fan of this as a random pairing can be good or bad - and make your experience good or bad.
Great Course
Really enjoyed the lower humidity and temperature in the mountains !!
This course is a nice value for the quality of the course. Also a very fair layout which for an enjoyable round of golf. A couple of tough holes but nice overall. Will go back for sure.
This was a fantastic golf course !
We will be back this Fall to play again...!
Course not in good shape
The greens are slower than slow. Been playing this course since 1988 and this was the least amount of fun I’ve had. Actually enjoyed Lake Junaluska better.
The course was in better condition than I would have expected. So much rain the last few days. But that being said the course was in pretty good shape. The course called me that morning and asked if it was alright to come in an about an hour later. Never had a course call me because they were delaying because of the wet conditions. So thumbs up for that. But had a great time. Got paired up with a local and that helped a lot because of course knowledge.
Good condition
This course kind of grows on you, especially when it is in good condition.
A mix of fair and challenging holes.
Pace of play can get slow but overall I recommend.
