Manor House at Tanglewood Park
About Manor House at Tanglewood Park
The Manor House Bed and Breakfast isn't your typical golf hotel or resort, but its location inside the 1,100-acre Tanglewood Park does have its advantages. It's within a mile of Tanglewood Park's 45 holes of golf, including the Championship Course, host of the 1974 PGA Championship won by Lee Trevino. The Victorian era manor dating to 1859 has been completely restored. All the rooms include their own private baths and period furniture and decor. Golfers can also stay at the cottage, guesthouse and apartment. Park amenities feature an aquatic center, horse stables, tennis courts and more.Facts

The Grove Park Inn Course
These are a just a few of the golf courses that I have played in NC. Tanglewood championship is the best course I have played. It is a well rounded course, great layout, great condition, great greens, beautiful scenery. If you are ever in the area, be sure to play a round at Tanglewood Championship.
Beautiful golf course
Very challenging and nice course, tons of bunkers so be ready to play sand
Greens in excellent condition
Having only two hours before the tee time special, GolfNow.com provided at fantastic round of golf at the Tanglewood Park - Reynolds course for a fantastic price! The golf course was in great condition for the time of year, but the greens were phenomenal. I would recommend this course to anyone, from the casual to the most avid golfer. It has something for everyone.
You will find a bunker for sure
The course was in great condition. It has very many bunkers. As a newbie, you simply put in the trap.
Super Value
Being from the North, it's always a pleasure to come to the Triad area for golf. The course was in very good condition. The greens at this time of year were a little bumpy but very playable. This course offer many elevation changes and a nice mixture of tight and open holes. Very demanding finishing hole. Experienced perfect weather, got a super deal and had an overall great experience!
Tough par 3's!
Excellent course, very long tough par 3's and great layout, highly recommended
What a gem of a place to play in a beautiful place.
Tanglewood is a special place! When you ride into the park it gives you a good feeling and the staff at the golf shop were just the best . The championship course is a great design and # 3 par 3 is one great par 3.
Great!
Honestly, my favorite course that I have ever played. Fantastic course. $11 golf now hot deal.....so impressed.
Great Layout
The champions course is a true classic. No hole is alike and the bunkering is fantastic. It is a very old course and that shows in the condition. Greens were slow and not very smooth. It is a very difficult and tight course that is fun to play. Besides who doesn't like playing a course that the PGA tour used to play of for a great deal?!
This course is tight and the greens where just punched.
The tight fairways made the rough a factor and they were not consistent in length & condition. Very much a shot makers course with slope and hillside conditions.
Great Course - Very Challenging
The course was in great shape, greens had just been aerated so they were a little bumpy. Every Green surrounded by bunkers, requires lots of precision with shots. Followed the RTJ policy of hard par, easy bogey. The bunkers are hard to get out of b/c of the thin red sand, needed some more sand in them.
course has wonderful fairways
Course is in great shape for being @ the end of summer. The challenge is to hit the greens, all of them are surrounded by bunkers. That's a good thing, it makes you concentrate and good for working on your accuracy for your approach shot.
Surprisingly Good!!
Course was surprisingly in good shape. My group used to play this course on a regular basis 3 years ago but as budget cuts took a hit and the decision was made to let the Reynolds course go and focus on the Championship the conditions became horrible and unplayable. Yesterday was the first day we have played in over 2 years and we were pleasantly surprised. The greens were in good shape almost great considering previous years. Fairways were green and very well maintained. We are all single digit handicaps and this course will certainly challenge any golfer from the tips. For the price we paid, well worth it. I would even say worth the standard rack rate right now as well.
Decent experience but course conditioning needs work
I hadn't played the Reynolds course at Tanglewood for almost 20 years. The course itself is a short layout, but will still call for every club in your bag to be used (played the blue tees at 6100 yds). Fairways and rough were in decent condition, but the tee boxes were overrun with weeds, crabgrass, etc and took away from the overall experience. In addition, the bunkers were firm and washed out due to heavy rains the night before. I would play it again, but would hope that these conditioning issues were fixed first. I wouldn't pay $33 to play the same conditions again, $20 would have been more appropriate. Overall though, decent afternoon of golf in gorgeous weather conditions made the experience livable.
Greens Need Help
I play this course on a regular basis. Normally its in really good shape but this time, not so much. The greens were starting to show crab grass on them. The tee boxes also were in rough shape. I think its just not the right time of the year. I've played this course several times this year and it was in good shape. The layout of the course is really good and when the course conditions are good, its a fun place to play. One other thing negative, we played on a Saturday afternoon and it was long, 5+ hour round. That's never enjoyable. I would still recommend it, especially at a different time of the year when the conditions are good. I will go back, just not for a while.
Nice course.
I liked the entire course. There were some challenging holes out there. Staff was friendly and got me on the course right away. Greens were true and well groomed.
Great course, great condition, great value!
As expected, the Reynolds course at Tanglewood was in wonderful condition. The greens were smooth and moderately quick and very receptive to iron shots. Fairways were well groomed with no leaves (yet) to worry about.
Best Greens I've played on a public course ever.
You have to pay $2 to park, as it is in a public park area, but the undulations in fairways and greens make this awesome.
Traps have reddish sand, but just stay our of them.
Don't ignore this course at Tanglewood
So many would probably ignore the red headed step child of the Championship course at Tanglewood...I know I did. My son and I saw a great special for under $20 each and decided to give it a try. Course was kept great, greens fantastic. Narrow fairways and it really is a shot makers course. Can't wait to give it another look now knowing the layout of the course. It's easy to be steered to the Championship course but you will be challenged and enjoy the Reynolds course just as much. Only advice would be not to plan on walking this course...quite a hike from the end of front to tee box on back.
Great value
Great value. Not enough money to have pristine greens. Everything else great. Challenging from the tips.
